Since they are based in London, I'm taking it that Monday in UTC+1 is the planned release day. Assuming the release goes as planned, sometime in the next 23 hours, we should hear from Bitstamp.
Litecoin has a strong future. I have a pile I'm holding until triple digits and then another pile I'm holding for 4 digits. Might take a year or two to get there--but it will eventually.
But I'm a little cynical about the bitstamp rollout for a few reasons:
1. There are no insider trading laws here--Bitstamp employees are going to make bank on the release. They will be able to do this because they will have LTC in the system up for sale and can force a price adjustment by setting sell walls (but they might let it spike before they do that--either way, bitstamp buyers won't suddenly be adding demand for LTC to other platforms) 2. Litecoin can be nearly instantly moved into the bitstamp system to be offered for sale by people who purchased lower over the last week in other platforms, which will be able to fill the demands of the new buyers easily while making profit from the sustainment of the hype bubble that hit yesterday 3. There are no big pending rumors in LTC after the bitstamp rollout--so whales have a lot to gain by quashing this hype bubble and buying more when the market panics and it drops back down < $30 4. Bitstamp first said "early June" then said "in the next week" (10 days ago), so they might miss the "scheduled for Monday" release.
If in doubt, #HODL and come back next year--you'll be way happier not to stress about the "if" and "when" ;)
