North Korea's Declining Influence on Volatility
The louder the war drums get, the less of an effect it has on the VIX. The market has been desensitized to statements or actions short of actual warfare regarding North Korea. Missile tests, nuclear weapon tests, and "fightin" words between "leaders" may not be a good indicator of future volatility.
