MASK Info
Mask Network is a protocol developed to enable encrypted messaging over social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook. Founded in July 2019, its primary aim is to serve as a bridge between the conventional internet and a decentralized network layered over it.
Initially designed to allow encryption of posts on Facebook and Twitter, the Mask Network has since evolved. It now facilitates direct funding of Gitcoin grant campaigns via Twitter and intends to introduce peer-to-peer payments and decentralized storage solutions. By integrating DApps, the platform enables users to access functionalities like crypto payments, decentralized finance, and e-commerce (including NFTs) on existing social networks. This unique integration gives rise to what’s termed the decentralized Applet (DApplet) ecosystem, allowing users to harness decentralized services without leaving their favorite platforms.
MASK is the governance token associated with Mask Network. Its administration is overseen by MaskDAO, a decentralized autonomous organization. Token holders have the privilege to vote on pivotal decisions concerning the MaskDAO, wherein each MASK token is equivalent to one vote.
