Mauritius Inflation Rate Up to 5-Month High of 3.1%
The annual inflation rate in Mauritius rose to 3.1% in September 2024, the highest since April, up from 2.7% in each of the previous two months.
Upward pressure came mostly from prices of food & non-alcoholic beverages (7.7% vs 6.8% in August); health (5.7% vs 5.3%) miscellaneous goods & services (5% vs 3.8%); furnishings & household equipment (4.7% vs 4.4%) and recreation & culture (3.8% vs 3.3%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.2% in September, after a 0.4% increase in the prior month.
