Mauritius Inflation Rate Slows to 4-Month Low

The annual inflation rate in Mauritius eased to a four-month low of 2.9% in December 2024, from 3.4% in each of the previous two months.

Prices slowed down mostly for recreation & culture (2.2% vs 4.1% in November); food & non-alcoholic beverages (7.3% vs 8.1%); miscellaneous goods & services (5.6% vs 6.1%) and furnishings & household equipment (5.3% vs 5.6%).

On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.5% in December, after a 0.3% increase in the month before.
