Cyprus Consumer Prices Fall At A Softer Pace

Consumer prices in Cyprus declined by 0.70% year-on-year in September 2025, easing from a 0.90% decline in the previous month, marking the fifth consecutive month of deflation.

Costs fell at a softer pace for transportation (-0.97% vs -3.05%), housing and utilities (-2.29% vs -2.34%), and clothing and footwear (-7.25% vs -7.70%).

At the same time, prices increase accelerated for communication (0.55% vs 0.48%).

In contrast, prices growth eased for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (0.11% vs 0.27%), recreation and culture (3.31% vs 3.90%), restaurants and hotels (4.41% vs 4.54%), education (3.40% vs 3.89%), health (1.39% vs 1.71%) and miscellaneous goods and services (1.00% vs 1.04%).

On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.6% in September 2025 from 0.3% growth in the preceding period.
