NOTE: This is a request by @scantor516 to backtest T-Step LSMA by alexgrover with my Sextan framework. You can backtest many of my indicators in minutes now! Of course,you can define your own indicator in the highlighted area in compliance with the uniform format, which guarantee when you use "Indicator on Indicator" function, it would not produce any error.

Background
Backtesting of technical indicators and strategies is the most common way to understand a quantitative strategy. However, the complicated configuration and adaptation work of backtesting many quantitative tools makes many traders who do not understand the code daunted. Moreover, although I have written a lot of strategies, I am still not very satisfied with the backtest configuration and writing efficiency. Therefore, I have been thinking about how to build a backtesting framework that can quickly and easily evaluate the backtesting performance of any indicator with a "long/short entry" indicator, that is, a "simple backtesting tool for dummies". The performance requirements should be stable, and the operation should be simple and convenient. It is best to "copy", "paste", and "a few mouse clicks" to complete the quick backtest and evaluation of a new indicator.
Luckily, I recently realized that TradingView provides an "Indicator on Indicator" feature, which is the perfect foundation for doing "hot swap" backtesting. My basic idea is to use a two-layer design. The first layer is the technical indicator signal source that needs to be embedded, which is only used to provide buy and sell signals of custom strategies; the second layer is the trading system, which is used to receive the output signals of the first layer, and filter the signals according to the agreed specifications. , Take Profit, Stop Loss, draw buy and sell signals and cost lines, define and send custom buy and sell alert messages to mobile phones, social software or trading interfaces. In general, this two-layer design is a flexible combination of "death and alive", which can meet the needs of most traders to quickly evaluate the performance of a certain technical indicator. The first layer here is flexible. Users can insert their own strategy codes according to my template, and they can draw buy and sell signals and output them to the second layer. The second layer is fixed, and the overall framework is solidified to ensure the stability and unity of the trading system. It is convenient to compare different or similar strategies under the same conditions. Finally, all trading signals are drawn on the chart, and the output strategy returns. test report.
The main function:
The first layer: "{Sextan} Your Indicator Source", the script provides a template for personalized strategy input, and the signal and definition interfaces ensure full compatibility with the second layer. Backtesting is performed stably in the backtesting framework of the layer. The first layer of this script is also relatively simple: enter your script in the highlighted custom script area, and after ensuring the final buy and sell signals long = bool condition, short = bool condition, the design of the first layer is considered complete. Input it into the PINE script editor of TradingView, save it and add it to the chart, you can see the pulse sequence in yellow (buy) and purple (sell) on the sub-picture, corresponding to the main picture, you can subjectively judge that the quality of the trading point of the strategy is good Bad.
The second layer: "{Sextan} PINEv4 Sextans Backtest Framework". This script is the standardized trading system strategy execution and alarm, used to generate the final report of the strategy backtest and some key indicators that I have customized that I find useful, such as: winning rate , Odds, Winning Surface, Kelly Ratio, Take Profit and Stop Loss Thresholds, Trading Frequency, etc. are evaluated according to the Kelly formula. To use the second layer, first load it into the TrainingView chart, no markers will appear on the chart, since you have not specified any strategy source signals, click on the gear-shaped setting next to the "{Sextan} PINEv4 Sextans BTFW" header button, you can open the backtest settings, the first item is to select your custom strategy source. Because we have added the strategy source to the chart in the previous step, you can easily find an option "{Sextan} Your Indicator Source: Signal" at the bottom of the list, this is the strategy source input we need, select and confirm , you can see various markers on the main graph, and quickly generate a backtesting profit graph and a list of backtesting reports. You can generate files and download the backtesting reports locally. You can also click the gear on the backtest chart interface to customize some conditions of the backtest, including: initial capital amount, currency type, percentage of each order placed, amount of pyramid additions, commission fees, slippage, etc. configuration. Note: The configuration in the interface dialog overrides the same configuration implemented by the code in the backtest script.
How to output charts:
The first layer: "{Sextan} Your Indicator Source", the output of this script is the pulse value of yellow and purple, yellow +1 means buy, purple -1 means sell.
The second layer: PINEv4 Sextans Backtest Framework". The output of this script is a bit complicated. After all, it is the entire trading system with a lot of information:
1. Blue and red arrows. The blue upward arrow indicates long position, the red downward arrow indicates short position, and the horizontal bar at the end of the purple arrow indicates take profit or stop loss exit.
2. Red and green lines. This is the holding cost line of the strategy, green represents the cost of holding a long position, and red represents the cost of holding a short position. The cost line is a continuous solid line and the price action is relatively close.
3. Green and yellow long take profit and stop loss area and green and yellow long take profit and stop loss fork. Once a long position is held, there is a conditional order for take profit and stop loss. The green horizontal line is the long take profit ratio line, and the yellow is the long stop loss ratio line; the green cross indicates the long take profit price, and the yellow cross indicates the long position. Stop loss price. It's worth noting that the prongs and wires don't necessarily go together. Because of the optimization of the algorithm, for a strong market, the take profit will occur after breaking the take profit line, and the profit will not be taken until the price falls.
4. The purple and red short take profit and stop loss area and the purple red short stop loss fork. Once a short position is held, there will be a take profit and stop loss conditional order, the red is the short take profit ratio line, and the purple is the short stop loss ratio line; the red cross indicates the short take profit price, and the purple cross indicates the short stop loss price.
5. In addition to the above signs, there are also text and numbers indicating the profit and loss values of long and short positions. "L" means long; "S" means short; "XL" means close long; "XS" means close short.
TradingView Strategy Tester Panel:
The overview graph is an intuitive graph that plots the blue (gain) and red (loss) curves of all backtest periods together, and notes: the absolute value and percentage of net profit, the number of all closed positions, the winning percentage, the profit factor, The maximum trading loss, the absolute value and ratio of the average trading profit and loss, and the average number of K-lines held in all trades.
Another is the performance summary. This is to display all long and short statistical indicators of backtesting in the form of a list, such as: net profit, gross profit, Sharpe ratio, maximum position, commission, times of profit and loss, etc.
Finally, the transaction list is a table indexed by the transaction serial number, showing the signal direction, date and time, price, profit and loss, accumulated profit and loss, maximum transaction profit, transaction loss and other values.
Remarks
Finally, I will explain that this is just the beginning of this model. I will continue to optimize the trading system of the second layer. Various optimization feedback and suggestions are welcome. EMA MTF PlusI like trading the 1 minute and 3 minutes time-frames. I'm what is commonly called a "scalper". Long term investments yes, I have some, but for trading, I don't have neither the time,
nor the patience to wait hours or days for my trade to be complete.
This doesn't mean I discount the higher time-frames, no, I actually rely heavily on them. I found that EMAs do a decent job as support/resistance, sometimes to a tick level of precision. And this is important for a 1 minute trader.
As such, I made this script that tracks the higher time-frames EMAs and displays the last value as a line.
I do not need the whole EMA, I'm not interested in crossovers or crossunders, these are anyway late signals for me.
What's with the triangles? These are local tops/bottoms , candles that have a have decent size of the wick. These tops and bottoms are by no means "final", they are merely a rejection at certain levels of price. Due to markets complexities (and human erratic behaviors hehe) these levels could be breached at the very next candle. For a more "final" version (nothing is really final but..) I added Schaff Trend Cycle as filter, so a triangle will pop only when a trend is mature enough ( STC with a value near 0 or near 100).
Colored bars. When the body of the candle is big, it shows strength. Strong bars tend to have follow through, especially when breaking key levels. The script looks at the body of the candle and compares it with ATR (Average True Range), if it's at least 0.8 of ATR it changes the bar color to yellow (bull candles) or fuchsia(bear candles).
Range identifier. This code is copied from Lazy Bear (if there are any issues please let me know), it's very useful in conjunction with colored bars.
I look for breakout candles that go outside of the range as a signal for a trade.
There are many ways in which this script can be useful, like trading mean reversions or momentum trades (breakouts) or simply trend following trades.
I hope you guys find it useful, you can play with default values and change them as you like, these are what I found to be working best for me and my trading universe (mostly crypto).

I got some requests for a script that shows Fibonacci Levels of Higher Time Frame Candles. so I made/published this script. I hope it would be useful for you.
Options:
You can set Higher Time Frame, by default it's 1 Day.
Optionally it can use Current or Last Candle of higher time frame to calculate/show its Fibonacci Levels.
It can show higher time frame candles at the background optionally. You can change its colors.
You can enable/disable/change each Fibonacci levels and their colors.
You can enable/disable Fibonacci Labels that is shown at the right ride and see only Fibonacci lines/levels

Apply X-Mas Tree script on the chart.
Enjoy the snowfall, changes in lightings and other animations. Animations only happen if the instrument is in trading session. So, stocks and indexes do not work on weekends and holidays. Use crypto as they are traded 24X7.

Dictionary/Object LibraryThis Library is aimed to mitigate the limitation of Pinescript having only one structured data type which is only arrays.
It lacks data types like Dictionaries(in Python) or Object (in JS) that are standard for other languages. Tuples do exist, but it hardly solves any problem.
Working only with Arrays could be overwhelming if your codebase is large. I looked for alternatives to arrays but couldn't find any library.
So I coded it myself and it's been working good for me. So I wanted to share it with you all.
What does it do:

If you are familiar with Python or Javascript, this library tries to immimate Object/Dictonary like structure with Key Value Pairs.
For Example:
object= {name:"John Doe", age: 28 , org: "PineCoders"}
And then it also tries to immitate the Array of Objects (I call it Stack)
like this:
stack= Array({name:"John Doe", age: 28 , org: "PineCoders"},
{name:"Adam Smith", age: 32 , org: "PineCoders"},
{name:"Paragjyoti Deka", age: 25 , org: "PineCoders"})
So there are basically two ideas: Objects and Stacks.
But it looks whole different in Pinescript for obvious reasons.
Limitation:
The major limitation I couldn't overcome was that, for all of the values: both input and return values for properties will be of string type.
This is due to the limiation of Pinecsript that there is no way to return a value on a if-else statement dynamically with different data types.
And as the input data type must be explicitly defined when exporting the library functions, only string inputs are allowed.
Now that doesn't mean you won't be able to use integer, float or boolens, you just need to pass the string value for it using str.tostring() method.
And the output for the getter functions will be in strings as well. But I have added some type conversion methods that you could use from this library itself.
From String to Float, String To Integer and String to Boolean: these three methods are included in this library.
So basically the whole library is based on a manipulatiion of Array of strings under the hood.

Yes, You can store this objects and stacks for persisting through the iterations of a script across successive bars.
You just need to set the variable using "var" keyword. Remember this objects and stacks are just arrays,
so any methods and properties an array have it pinescript, would be applicable for objects and stacks.
It can also be used in security functions without any issues for MTF Analysis.

1st Moving Average selection is set to LRC (Linear Regression Curve)
Length of 1st Moving Average is set to 50
2nd Moving Average is set to EDSMA (Ehlers Deviation-Scaled Moving Average)
Length of 2nd Moving Average is set to 30
3rd Moving Average is set to HMA (Hull Moving Average)
Length of 3rd Moving Average is set to 200
Uptrend direction confirmation through 3rd Moving Average is set to false by default
Start date is set to start from 2013
Backtesting can also be done selecting %age of equity
Suggestions for Usage
Mostly winning trades by set defaults have no prominent drawdown so losing trades can be abolished with Stoploss. Would soon add Stoploss and Takeprofit options in next version. Also, if you want an alerts version of it then just comment below and would publish it later. I’ve found this strategy useful on 1D timeframe with described default settings but multiple Mas selections can be explored further.

Hx MTF Moving AverageThis script provides a quick and easy access to different timeframes of a moving average in one indicator and one tab.
It handles up to 4 different timeframes and the current timeframe if it is different from the preset timeframes.
The moving average is not displayed if the current timeframe is higher than the preset timeframe, as per TradingView recommandations.
Available moving average types: sma , wma , ema , vwma , rma (RSI), hma (Hull) and smma (Smoothed).
The default settings provide an example of commonly used timeframes with associated colors ranked from Hot (shorter, more nervous) to Cold (longer, less nervous) while the current timeframe is displayed in gray.
These settings are just an example and are NOT meant to be used as a trading system! DYOR!
MACD PlusMoving Average Convergence Divergence – MACD
The MACD is an extremely popular indicator used in technical analysis. It can be used to identify aspects of a security's overall trend. Most notably these aspects are momentum, as well as trend direction and duration. What makes the MACD so informative is that it is actually the combination of two different types of indicators. First, the MACD employs two Moving Averages of varying lengths (which are lagging indicators) to identify trend direction and duration. Then, it takes the difference in values between those two Moving Averages (MACD Line) and an EMA of those Moving Averages (Signal Line) and plots that difference between the two lines as a histogram which oscillates above and below a center Zero Line. The histogram is used as a good indication of a security's momentum.

Squeeze Pro
Traditionally, John Carter's version uses 20 period SMAs as the basis lines on both the BB and the KC.
In this version, I've given the freedom to change this and try out different types of moving averages.
The original squeeze indicator had only one Squeeze setting, though this new one has three.
The gray dot Squeeze, call it a "low squeeze" or an "early squeeze" - this is the easiest Squeeze to form based on its settings.
The orange dot Squeeze is the original from the first Squeeze indicator.
And finally, the yellow dot squeeze, call it a "high squeeze" or "power squeeze" - is the most difficult to form and suggests price is under extreme levels of compression.
Colored Directional Movement Index (CDMI) , a custom interpretation of J. Welles Wilder’s Directional Movement Index (DMI), where :
DMI is a collection of three separate indicators ( ADX , +DI , -DI ) combined into one and measures the trend’s strength as well as its direction
CDMI is a custom interpretation of DMI which presents ( ADX , +DI , -DI ) with a color scale - representing the trend’s strength, color density - representing momentum/slope of the trend’s strength, and triangle up/down shapes - representing the trend’s direction. CDMI provides all the information in a single line with colored triangle shapes plotted on the bottom. DMI can provide quality information and even trading signals but it is not an easy indicator to master, whereus CDMI simplifies its usage. The CDMI adds additional insight of verifying/confirming the trend as well as its strength

The XTL was developed by Tom Joseph (in his book Applying Technical Analysis ) to identify major trends, similar to Elliott Wave 3 type swings.
Blue bars are bullish and indicate a potential upwards impulse.
Red bars are bearish and indicate a potential downwards impulse.
White bars indicate no trend is detected at the moment.
Added "Williams Vix Fix" signal. The Vix is one of the most reliable indicators in history for finding market bottoms. The Williams Vix Fix is simply a code from Larry Williams creating almost identical results for creating the same ability the Vix has to all assets.
The VIX has always been much better at signaling bottoms than tops. Simple reason is when market falls retail traders panic and increase volatility , and professionals come in and capitalize on the situation. At market tops there is no one panicking... just liquidity drying up.

As in the last indicator (moving average oscillator by ) I try to show you how you can take advantage of any indicator to infinity.
For now I let you experiment with the "2" RSIs and their histograms to measure divergence.
The 1st and 2nd RSI are fully customizable together or separately. Length, source, time frame, colors.
Horizontal control levels such as RSIs are fully customizable.
In the next update "tomorrow I will possibly add some details"

SAR MTF levelsThis indicator displays last Parabolic SAR dot levels on most common timeframes. Default option is cross shape, but can be set as lines as well. Very easy to track visually, without continuously changing chart resolution.
Multi timeframes RSI Screener & indicator by noop42Since my previous x4 multi timeframes Stochastic RSI script seems to have been appreciated, I decided to make a 2nd version of this tool which focuses on the RSI indicator only.
Default parameters
RSI length : 14
Timeframes: 5, 15, 60, 240
OB/OS zones : 70 & 30
Repaint mode: enabled
Display lines: enabled
Display screener: enabled
Convergence warnings: timeframes 1, 2 & 3
Details
Repaint mode : Disabling it makes the indicator wait for the current candle to close before to change its value
Display lines: Allows you to disable RSI lines drawings, in order to move the screener on your main chart for example.
Display screener: Allows you to disable the screener, in order to use RSI lines only
OB/OS convergences warnings : Allows you to select which timeframe(s) must be taken into consideration for convergence signals (Selected timeframes can be distinguished in the screener, followed by a * char in the timeframes column)

Macd Divergence + MTF EMA MACD Divergence + Multi Time Frame EMA
This Strategy uses 3 indicators: the Macd and two emas in different time frames
The configuration of the strategy is:
Macd standar configuration (12, 26, 9) in 1H resolution
10 periods ema, in 1H resolution
5 periods ema, in 15 minutes resolution
We use the two emas to filter for long and short positions.
If 15 minutes ema is above 1H ema, we look for long positions
If 15 minutes ema is below 1H ema, we look for short positions
We can use an aditional filter using a 100 days ema, so when the 15' and 1H emas are above the daily ema we take long positions
Using this filter improves the strategy
We wait for Macd indicator to form a divergence between histogram and price
If we have a bullish divergence, and 15 minutes ema is above 1H ema, we wait for macd line to cross above signal line and we open a long position
If we have a bearish divergence, and 15 minutes ema is below 1H ema, we wait for macd line to cross below signal line and we open a short position
We close both position after a cross in the oposite direction of macd line and signal line
Also we can configure a Take profit parameter and a trailing stop loss
Smart On Balance Volume MTFSmart On Balance Volume
And constructed this indicator to have a variation of the conventional volume, the on balance volume is an indicator that is not given much value when I think that it is a formidable underlying basis of what is happening more when some etf cannot be measured with the PVI or NVI.
The Stochastico is built with the OBV signal of 3 different time frames, as it is for daily work
Has multiple settings and signals =
Color in overbought and oversold zones
visual alerts of crossovers in overbought and oversold zones
Alerts in for TDW on overbought and oversold
Signal length for% K
Signal length for% D
Smoothing length for% K and% D
A switch is added to toggle between the 3 time frames and the main one
Switch is added so you can see the original OBV
A switch is added to change the color in the bars

Burgerized MTF BB + Reverse Engineering RSI (RERSI) + Hidden S&RThis is a mod of a script by informanerd that has helped me immensely with my trading setup.

This version is functionally essentially the same - the difference is in visualization choices and automation.
Instead of selecting different timeframes, and thus having to change not one but 4 timeframes manually every time you look at a different time frame on the main chart, I found (with help from the kind community in the Pine Script chat right here on Tradingview!) a method to choose multiples so that you can have consistent results no matter what timeframe you are looking at.
Default is set to multiples of 2, 4 and 8 which is the system I found works best for myself personally.
I also changed visualization - crossovers are now highlighted in the background of the respective bands. By default I have chosen different transparency levels for crossovers then sitting inside the bands. This destroyed the ability to modify colors the old school way in Style tab, but I have added inputs for all the relative settings so you can modify the visual aspect to your hearts content, as I know my colors make most people barf (something I did when I was younger maybe?).

Vwap mtf Swing Stock StrategyThis is a trending strategy designed for stock market, especially long trending assets such as TSLA, NIO, AMAZON and so on.
Its made of volatility bands and weekly VWAP, in this case daily and weekly.
This strategy has been adapted to go long only.
Rules for entry
For long , we want to enter close of a candle is above vwap weekly, and at the same time the close of a candle cross-under the lower volatility band.
For exit , we want to enter close of a candle is below vwap weekly, and at the same time the close of a candle cross-over the upper volatility band.
This strategy does not have a risk management inside, so use it with caution.

Papercuts Dual PSAR v01Dual PSAR is a trend following script that uses auto-higher timeframe calculation of the current timeframe to create a dual Parabolic Stop And Release.
This is useful because it can determine periods of transition or indecision and can flag those periods with which way it is learning even though it is undecided, what i call "Wait Zones".
When both PSARS are not in alignment, it uses the lower timeframe one to determine which way the wait zone is learning.
You can see below in the chart shows some good trends and some wait zones.
A wait zone can have bullish indication, but then still have a bearish continuation.
A wait zone can have bullish indication, and then enter a bull trend.
Typically I won't make trades in wait zones, and I will exit trades when entering one.
Just wanted to try this out and see how it did. Figured I'd share.
Triple Williams Alligator (MTF)This script is simply a Multi time frame version of the built in Williams Alligator script.
Higher time frame Alligators can often produce resistance and support as traders on different timeframes react to them. They can also act as a trend filter.
MA+ ROC MTF DashboardThis is a Multi Timeframe moving average ROC (percent of change) dashboard.
This dashboard shows percent of change of current price to a moving averages on different time frames.
Most left value in the dashboard always represents your chart time frame, while the next 3 represent other time frames which you can set in 'MA+ ROC' settings.
Support User Defined time frames or automatic time frames based on a multiplier value.
Better define same or higher time frames than your chart time frame to get accurate results.
