What is the Supertrend indicator?
"The Supertrend indicator is a trend following overlay on your trading chart, much like a moving average, that shows you the current trend direction.
The indicator works well in a trending market but can give false signals when a market is trading in a range.
It uses the ATR (average true range) as part of its calculation which takes into account the volatility of the market. The ATR is adjusted using the multiplier setting which determines how sensitive the indicator is."
"For the basic Supertrend settings, you can adjust period and factor:
- The period setting is the lookback for the ATR calculation
- Factor is the what the ATR is multiplied by to offset the bands from price"
How to use this indicator
This indicator is inspired by a strategy I found. It includes four Supertrend indicators, each with different settings that displays trend strength and support/resistance zones. The default settings are optimal for cryptocurrency but do work quite well for traditional also. I highly recommend you try experimenting with different settings, increasing them to suit the instrument.
The bands are set from low to high, Band 1 being the fastest and Band 4 being the slowest. Band 4 is the one that sets the overall trend so when price is above Band 4, the trend is bullish and vice versa. Trend is strongest when price is above/below Band 1 and gets weaker as it filters through each band. Band 4 provides the strongest support/resistance and if that breaks the trend flips.
In the menu, you will see an option called "Remove Anti Trend?". It is enabled by default and it removes any bearish/resistance bands when the trend is up and any bullish/support bands when the trend is down. When turned off, it will show all Supertrend Bands as they are by default.
Bar Colors
Bar colors are optional and they reflect the current trend strength based on the Supertrend bands.
Alternate ways of using this indicator
You could leave everything as default or you can display individual bands. For instance, because I use many overlay indicators, most of the time I turn off all the bands and only show bar colors:
You can also turn off Bands 1 and 2 and only show the two slowest lengths:
This removes the noise of the two faster Supertrends.
Or just show the two fastest bands:
Any suggestions to improve this indicator are most welcome :)

Supertrend with Percent Difference from CloseThis script improves the Supertrend indicator by displaying a label that shows the percent difference between the latest closing price & the Supertrend.
This comes in handy when one is using the Supertrend value as a stoploss level. For instance, one would like to have a maximum stop loss level of 8%. Instead of calculating how much percent the price is away from the Supertrend, one can look at the percent label & make an informed decision as to whether initiating a position would have favourable risk/reward or not.
Another utility would be selling into strength when one is using the Supertrend as a trailing stop loss. For instance, if the price is a certain percentage far away from the Supertrend, one may conclude that the price is now extended & either price correction or time correction would ensue, & decide to sell into strength.
Supertrend Mean Reversion Index [HODLER]This indicator was created primarily as an experiment. While the supertrend can be powerful, in many cases, the trend has already started before the time it's identified, resulting in a price decrease. After conducting my own research, I discovered that the reversal point is often more nearby during the downtrend, rather than at the beginning of the uptrend. Surprisingly, this point is always based on the average percentage below or above the supertrend. The indicator calculates these averages, usually starting below the uptrend point, and in most cases, the trend continues upward from there.
This indicator can be very useful for checking corrections. For example, setting the percentages manually to around 50-60% on BTC 1d, I am impressed by how accurate the indication is. Although there might be other more professional ways to calculate this, I still find it amusing that we can use this indicator to make these calculations as well.
To use the indicator, you will need to set the ATR length and ATR factor, which are self-explanatory. The next settings are the ATR lookback and Percentages Stored. The ATR lookback is the ladder price from which the calculation begins, and Percentages Stored is the maximum number of the highest and lowest percentages from previous data points that are stored to calculate the average percentage.
The supertrend percentage settings can be manually set to adjust your percentage up or down, but if left at 0, it will be calculated automatically based on the above-mentioned settings. You can also set an offset to slightly deviate above or below the average to yield better results. The last supertrend setting is the minimum number of bars that must be considered before checking whether the value is above or below the average.
To filter out some noise, I have added Relative Strength Index (RSI). The values above and below are determined by whether the RSI moving average is above or below certain thresholds.
Please note that this indicator was created for my own research. While it can be very accurate with the right settings, you should always use it in combination with other technical analyses to validate your entry and exit points. If you have any suggestions to improve the indicator, please let me know in the comments. I would really appreciate it!
SuperTrend Support & Resistance(My goal creating this indicator) : Provide a way to categorize and label key structures on multiple time frames so I can create a plan based on those observable facts.
The Underlying Concept / What is Momentum?
The Momentum shown is derived from a Mathematical Formula, SUPERTREND. When price closes above Supertrend Its bullish Momentum when its below Supertrend its Bearish Momentum. On the first bar bearish momentum is detected a resistance Level is made at the highest point of the previous bullish condition. On the first bar bullish momentum is detected a support Level is made at the lowest point of the previous bearish condition. As I become a better analyst I will find better techniques and this source code may become open-source, but as of now it remains protected. This indicator scans for bullish & bearish Momentum on the Timeframes selected by the user and when there is a shift in momentum on any of those time frames (price closes below or above SUPERTREND ) it notifies the trader with a Supply or Demand level with a unique color and Size to signify the severity of said level.
What is Severity?
Severity is How we differentiate the importance of different Highs and Lows. If Momentum is detected on a higher timeframe the Supply or Demand Level is updated. The Color and Size representing that higher timeframe will be shown. Demand and Supply Levels made by higher Timeframes are more SEVERE then a demand level made by a lower Timeframe.
Technical Inputs
- If you want to optimize the rate of signals to better fit your trading plan you would change the Factor input and ATR Length input. Increase factor and ATR Length to decrease the frequency of signals and decrease the Factor and ATR Length to increase the frequency of signals.
- to ensure the correct calculation of Support and Resistance levels change BAR_INDEX. BAR_INDEX creates a buffer at the start of the chart. For example: If you set BAR_INDEX to 300. The script will wait for 300 bars to elapse on the current chart before running. This allows the script more time to gather data. Which is needed in order for our dynamic lookback length to never return an error(Dynamic lookback length cant be negative or zero). The lower the timeframe the greater the amount of bars need. For Example if I open up a 30 sec chart I would enter 5000 as my BAR_INDEX since that will provide enough data to ensure the correct calculation of Support and Resistance levels.
Time Frame Inputs
- The indicator has 3 Time Frame Displays where you can choose how SEVERE You want the Supply and Demand Levels. For Example: 1min, 3min, 5min, 15 min Levels, 60 min levels Weekly Levels, etc.....The higher the Timeframe Selected the more SEVERE the Level.
- Use the Amount of time Frames input to increase or limit the amount of time frames that will be displayed onto the chart.
Display Inputs
- The toggle (Trend or Basic) option Lets the trend determine the colors of the Support and Resistance Levels or Basic where the color is strictly based on if its a high or a low ( Trend = HH,HL,LL,LH)
- Toggle options (Close) and (High & Low) creates Support and Resistance Levels using the Lowest close and Highest close or using the Lowest low and Highest high.
Toggle on both or toggle off both in order to use both these values when determining the trend of your chart. For Example this would mean (Price has to close higher then the highest high. Not only make a higher high or a
higher close) and the inverse (Price has to close lower then the lowest low. Not only make a lower low or a lower close)
How Trend Is being Determined ?
(Previous Supply Level > Current Supply Level ) if this statement is true then its s LH so the trend is bearish if this statement is false then its a HH so the trend is bullish
(Previous Demand Level > Current Demand Level ) if this statement is true then its a LL so the trend is bearish if this statement is false then its a HL so the trend is bullish
(Close > Current Supply Level ) if this statement is true technically price made a HH so the trend is bullish
(Close < Current Demand Level ) if this statement is true technically price made a LL so the trend is bearish
- Fully customize how you display and label Market Structure in specific timeframes. Line Length, Line Width, Line Style, Label Distance, Label Size, Label Background Size, and Background Color can all be customized.
- Lastly Is the Trend Chart. To Easily verify the current trend of any timeframes displayed by this indicator toggle on Chart On/Off . You also get the option to change the Chart Position and the size of the Trend Chart
*****The Current charts timeframe has to lower then a month to ensure correct calculation of Supply and Demand Levels*****
How it can be used ?
(Examples of Different ways you can use this indicator) : Easily categorize the severity of each and every Supply or Demand Level in the market (The higher the time frame the stronger the level)
: Quickly Determine the trend of any Timeframe
: Get a consistent view of a market and how different time frames are behaving but just use one chart.
: Take the discretion from hand drawing support and resistance lines out of your trading
: Find and categorize strong levels for potential breakouts
: Trend Analysis, Use multiple time frames to create a narrative based on observable facts from these time frames
: Different Targets to take money off the table
: Use labels to differentiate between different trend line setups
: Find Great places to move your stop loss too.
Supertrend ANY INDICATOR (RSI, MFI, CCI, etc.) + Range FilterThis indicator will generate a supertrend of your chosen configuration on any of the following indicators:
RSI
MFI
Accum/Dist
Momentum
On Balance Volume
CCI
There is also a RANGE FILTER built into the scripts so that you can smooth the indicators for the supertrend. This is an optional configuration in the settings. Also, you can change the oversold/overbought bounds in the settings (they are removed entirely for indicators without bounds).
If you find this indicator useful, please boost it and follow! I am open to suggestions for adding new indicators to this script, it's very simple to add new ones, just suggest them in the comments.
Supertrend Ext1st it exactly looks like the original Supertrend indicator. But if you see the options, you can see it is totally different:
It uses my other indicator inside: Zero Lag Keltner Channels, so you can use smoothed ATR bands for calculation instead of the raw ATR. By default it's length is 1 so it works like the original Supertrend.
You can choose different sources and moving averages for Keltner Channel calculation
It can filter outliers in ATR calculation
The indicator code is in my TAExt library, so it can easily be used in custom strategies.
supertrend heikin ashi
hi friends....publishing supertrend heikin ashi indicator. which shows the movement of price over time and how strong those movements are/will be, regardless of the direction the price moves, up, or down. Indicator specifically useful, as it helps traders and analysts spot points where the market can and will reverse by providing signals long (buy) and short (sell). Show the relative strength of price movements but leave out the directionality of the price movements, best utilized in combination with other technical indicators – such as trend lines and moving averages – which show price trends and directions. Having an alert feature to make aware market players from signals provided by indicator.
HA charts are a great way to help those who can be spooked by the chaos of the markets (I'm one!), but they have a big drawback in that the price you see on a HA candle is often significantly different from the real price that you would trade on. This brings issues of unrealistic expectations of profits/losses, and also makes back testing a strategy very difficult. I still wouldn't recommend ever using TradingView's "strategy" tool when using HA charts, but using this indicator you can do accurate manual back tests.
This uses Heikin Ashi Candles as source on normal chart..dont use it on heikin ashi chart
There is an option for use normal japanes candle supertrend..so we can compare how this heikin ashi prevent false trades.

SuperTrend'ed Fibos - DolphinTradeBot
Overwiev
This indicator aims to assist in taking trades at relatively low price levels in the direction of the main trend and capturing profits at potential reversal points.
What is it for !
The indicator simply performs its calculations by using two multitimeframe SuperTrend indicators, Fibonacci levels, and pivot points. The reason for using MTF in both SuperTrend indicators is that the lengths of the levels are relatively limited, so it allows for a more detailed analysis on lower timeframes.
How is it work
When both the HTF SuperTrend and the main SuperTrend indicators are in the same direction,
For Uptrend:
Once the main SuperTrend line is violated it barcolor and draws the basic Fibonacci levels between the pivot high point and the SuperTrend line within the trend region . The TakeProfit level is drawn at a distance multiplied by the TakeProfit Multiplier, between the lowest and highest points of the level. When the main trend reverses or the TakeProfit level is violated, it stops drawing.
For Downtrend:
Once the main SuperTrend line is violated it barcolor and draws the basic Fibonacci levels between the pivot low point and the SuperTrend line within the trend region . The TakeProfit level is drawn at a distance multiplied by the TakeProfit Multiplier, between the lowest and highest points of the level. When the main trend reverses or the TakeProfit level is violated, it stops drawing.
How to Use:
To prevent the line thickness from being displayed on the screen, the indicator shows the direction of the HTF SuperTrend indicator by coloring the background. In the settings section, you can adjust:
TakeProfit Multiplier
Fibonacci line colors
HTF SuperTrend activation
HTF SuperTrend settings
Main SuperTrend settings
Fibonacci levels
Custom alert activation
Custom alert level
Alarm Section
By default, the indicator gives an alert when a level is formed or violated. Additionally, if you want to set an alert for a specific level, you can activate the Custom Alert option and choose your desired level.
SuperTrend + Relative Volume (Kernel Optimized)Introducing our new KDE Optimized Supertrend + Relative Volume Indicator!
This innovative indicator combines the power of the Supertrend indicator along with Relative Volume. It utilizes the Kernel Density Estimation (KDE) to estimate the probability of a candlestick marking a significant trend break or reversal.
❓How to Interpret the KDE %:
The KDE % is a crucial metric that reflects the likelihood that the current candlestick represents a true break in the SuperTrend line, supported by an increase in relative volume. It estimates the probability of a trend shift or continuation based on historical SuperTrend breaks and volume patterns:
Low KDE %: A lower probability that the current break is significant. Price action is less likely to reverse, and the trend may continue.
Moderate KDE - High KDE %: An increased possibility that a trend reversal or consolidation could occur. Traders should start watching for confirmation signals.
📌How Does It Work?
The SuperTrend indicator uses the Average True Range (ATR) to determine the direction of the trend and identifies when the price crosses the SuperTrend line, signaling a potential trend reversal. Here's how the KDE Optimized SuperTrend Indicator works:
SuperTrend Calculation: The SuperTrend indicator is calculated, and when the price breaks above (bullish) or below (bearish) the SuperTrend line, it is logged as a significant event.
Relative Volume: For each break in the SuperTrend line, we calculate the relative volume (current volume vs. the average volume over a defined period). High relative volume can suggest stronger confirmation of the trend break.
KDE Array Calculation: KDE is applied to the break points and relative volume data:
Define the KDE options: Bandwidth, Number of Steps, and Array Range (Array Max - Array Min).
Create a density range array using the defined number of steps, corresponding to potential break points.
Apply a Gaussian kernel function to the break points and volume data to estimate the likelihood of the trend break being significant.
KDE Value and Signal Generation: The KDE array is updated as each break occurs. The KDE % is calculated for the breakout candlestick, representing the likelihood of the trend break being significant. If the KDE value exceeds the defined activation threshold, a darker bullish or bearish arrow is plotted after bar confirmation. If the KDE value falls below the threshold, a more transparent arrow is drawn, indicating a possible but lower probability break.
⚙️Settings:
SuperTrend Settings:
ATR Length: The period over which the Average True Range (ATR) is calculated.
Multiplier: The multiplier applied to the ATR to determine the SuperTrend threshold.
KDE Settings:
Bandwidth: Determines the smoothness of the KDE function and the width of the influence of each break point.
Number of Bins (Steps): Defines the precision of the KDE algorithm, with higher values offering more detailed calculations.
KDE Threshold %: The level at which relative volume is considered significant for confirming a break.
Relative Volume Length: The number of historic candles used in calculating KDE %
SuperTrend ToolkitThe SuperTrend Toolkit (Super Kit) introduces a versatile approach to trend analysis by extending the application of the SuperTrend indicator to a wide array of @TradingView's built-in or Community Scripts . This tool facilitates the integration of the SuperTrend algorithm with various indicators, including oscillators, moving averages, overlays, and channels.
Methodology:
The SuperTrend, at its core, calculates a trend-following indicator based on the Average-True-Range (ATR) and price action. It creates dynamic support and resistance levels, adjusting to changing market conditions, and aiding in trend identification.
pine_st(simple float factor = 3., simple int length = 10) =>
float atr = ta.atr(length)
float up = hl2 + factor * atr
up := up < nz(up ) or close > nz(up ) ? up : nz(up )
float lo = hl2 - factor * atr
lo := lo > nz(lo ) or close < nz(lo ) ? lo : nz(lo )
int dir = na
float st = na
if na(atr )
dir := 1
else if st == nz(up )
dir := close > up ? -1 : 1
else
dir := close < lo ? 1 : -1
st := dir == -1 ? lo : up
@TradingView's native SuperTrend lacks the flexibility to incorporate different price sources into its calculation.
Community scripts, addressed the limitation by implementing the option to input different price sources, for example, one of the most popular publications, @KivancOzbilgic's SuperTrend script.
In May 2023, @TradingView introduced an update allowing the passing of another indicator's plot as a source value via the input.source() function. However, the built-in ta.atr function still relied on the chart's price data, limiting the formerly mentioned scripts to the chart's price data alone.
Unique Approach -
This script addresses the aforementioned limitations by processing the data differently.
Firstly we create a User-Defined-Type (UDT) replicating a bar's open, high, low, close (OHLC) values.
type bar
float o = open
float h = high
float l = low
float c = close
We then use this type to store the external input data.
src = input.source(close, "External Source")
bar b = bar.new(
nz(src ) , open 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦
math.max(nz(src ), src), high 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦
math.min(nz(src ), src), low 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦
src ) close 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦
Finally, we pass the data into our custom built SuperTrend with ATR functions to derive the external source's version of the SuperTrend indicator.

I am thrilled to present the "vanAmsen - Supertrend Forecast", an advanced tool that marries the simplicity of the Supertrend with comprehensive statistical insights.
Before we dive into the functionalities of this indicator, it's essential to understand its foundation and theory.
The Theory:
What exactly is the Supertrend?
The Supertrend, at its core, is a momentum oscillator. It's a tool that provides buy and sell signals based on the prevailing market trend. The underlying principle is straightforward: by analyzing average price data and volatility over a period, the Supertrend gives us a line that represents the trend direction.
However, trading isn't just about identifying trends; it's about understanding their strength, potential profitability, and historical accuracy. This is where statistics come into play. By incorporating statistical analysis into the Supertrend, we can gain deeper insights into the market's behavior.

SuperTrend Bar Counter - DolphinTradeBot
OVERVIEW
This indicator calculates the lengths of upward and downward trends based on the specified SuperTrend settings and timeframe. It then takes the average length of the entered number of swings and compares the current trend durations with these averages. The main goal is to anticipate potential reversals in advance.
HOW IS IT WORK ?
The indicator actually contains two different but conceptually similar metrics.
The first part; shows how long the Supertrend stays in an upward or downward trend in real time. Additionally, it analyzes how close the current value is to the average of the Supertrend bar count for the given input.
The second part; aims to provide a different perspective on general trend analysis. It calculates the average duration of upward and downward trends in bars based on the SuperTrend indicator settings within a specified period and timeframe. If, contrary to expectations, downward trends last longer than upward trends, the background is colored green, indicating a prediction that the trend will continue upward.
Explanation of the second part logic: As you know, moving averages or similar approaches that follow the price are often correct when looking back retrospectively, but they cannot serve as leading indicators in real-time trading. That's why, when performing trend analysis, I wanted to introduce a completely different perspective based on price movement, yet still grounded in price action itself.
This phenomenon is partly due to the nature of the SuperTrend itself. After strong price movements, SuperTrend tends to reverse direction much more quickly during pullbacks. Following a strong upward move, a downward trend is detected much earlier and tends to last longer. The indicator provides an alternative perspective by analyzing which directional movement occurs more rapidly and uses this insight for trend prediction.
HOW TO USE ?
It can be used to identify potential price reversals or to assess whether the price is generally cheap or expensive.
In the settings section, you can adjust the SuperTrend parameters and timeframes for the values displayed in the table.
In the second part, you can configure the values used for general trend analysis.
NOTE
Things to be aware of: As the chart's timeframe decreases, pulling data from higher timeframes becomes more difficult. For example, when the chart is set to a 5-minute timeframe, it may fail to retrieve swing periods from the daily timeframe. Similarly, on a 4-hour chart, when calculating the average swing, there might be enough data for only 5 periods instead of 20.
Please keep in mind that this indicator was created solely to provide an idea. It should only be considered as a perspective or a supporting tool that influences your decision by no more than 5% at most.
Supertrend Multiasset Correlation - vanAmsen Hello traders!
I am elated to introduce the "Supertrend Multiasset Correlation" , a groundbreaking fusion of the trusted Supertrend with multi-asset correlation insights. This approach offers traders a nuanced, multi-layered perspective of the market.
The Underlying Concept:
Ever pondered over the term Multiasset Correlation?
In the intricate tapestry of financial markets, assets do not operate in silos. Their movements are frequently intertwined, sometimes palpably so, and at other times more covertly. Understanding these correlations can unlock deeper insights into overarching market narratives and directional trends.
By melding the Supertrend with multi-asset correlations, we craft a holistic narrative. This allows traders to fathom not merely the trend of a lone asset but to appreciate its dynamics within a broader market tableau.
Strategy Insights:
At the core of this indicator is its strategic approach. For every asset, a signal is generated based on the Supertrend parameters you've configured. Subsequently, the correlation of daily price changes is assessed. The ultimate signal on the selected asset emerges from the average of the squared correlations, factoring in their direction. This indicator not only accounts for the asset under scrutiny (hence a correlation of 1) but also integrates 12 additional assets. By default, these span U.S. growth ETFs, value ETFs, sector ETFs, bonds, and gold.
Indicator Highlights:
The "Supertrend Multiasset Correlation" isn't your run-of-the-mill Supertrend adaptation. It's a bespoke concoction, tailored to arm traders with an all-encompassing view of market intricacies, fortified with robust correlation metrics.
Key Features:
- Supertrend Line : A crystal-clear visual depiction of the prevailing market trajectory.
- Multiasset Correlation : Delve into the intricate interplay of various assets and their correlation with your primary instrument.
- Interactive Correlation Table : Nestled at the top right, this table offers a succinct overview of correlation metrics.
- Predictive Insights : Leveraging correlations to proffer predictive pointers, adding another layer of conviction to your trades.
Usage Nuances:
- The bullish Supertrend line radiates in a rejuvenating green hue, indicative of potential upward swings.
- On the flip side, the bearish trajectory stands out in a striking red, signaling possible downtrends.
- A rich suite of customization tools ensures that the chart resonates with your trading ethos.
Parting Words:
While the "Supertrend Multiasset Correlation" bestows traders with a rejuvenated perspective, it's paramount to embed it within a comprehensive trading blueprint. This would include blending it with other technical tools and adhering to stringent risk management practices. And remember, before plunging into live trades, always backtest to fine-tune your strategies.
SuperTrend (Self-Adjusting Parameters for Highest Profitability)SuperTrend (Self-Adjusting Parameters for Highest Profitability)
The SuperTrend is a trend-following indicator.
It works best when it is used along with other indicators.
It performs well in trending markets and can give false signals in volatile markets.
It becomes Smart when its Multiplier and Period parameters are automatically detected .
• Self-Adjusting Multiplier and Period parameters
• The graphs for Profitability, SuperTrend Multiplier, SuperTrend Period and the SuperTrend itself are available to choose for display from the indicator settings
• A chart layout can be made just for the Smart SuperTrend, having all the graphs nicely displayed
• Alerts for changes in Trend, Multiplier, Period, Profitability
The range for Multiplier, Period and Time can be changed in the indicator settings.
This affects the loading speed (smaller range, faster to load), as well as the accuracy of the signals.
The indicator switches to the most profitable Multiplier and Period parameters automatically, in real-time .
It scans across the entire historical data made available by TradingView.
The Smart SuperTrend works on all timeframes and symbols available on TradingView.
It does not repaint!
But several aspects must be considered:
- 1. TradingView periodically removes access to old data while giving access to new data in real-time.
____ The frequency depends on the timeframe, amount of data. It can happen daily for second charts, weekly for minute charts.
____ Since the Indicator wouldn't have access to that old data anymore, the Profitability may change its value, causing a certain degree of repainting.
- 2. The starting time for Backtest must be inserted in the settings panel.

SuperTrend Volume [BigBeluga]SuperTrend Volume is an advanced trend-following indicator that combines the traditional SuperTrend method with a normalized volume visualization inside trend bands, offering enhanced insight into market dynamics and volume activity.
🔵 Key Features:
Dynamic Trend Bands: The indicator uses the SuperTrend methodology to plot upper and lower trend bands, which adapt dynamically to price movements. Green bands indicate an uptrend, while purple bands indicate a downtrend.
Normalized Volume Visualization:
Inside the trend bands, normalized volume is displayed to highlight the intensity of market participation during trends.
Users can choose between two visualization types:
Bars: Displays volume as vertical bars within the bands.
Area: Represents volume as a shaded area for a smoother look.
Color-Coded Trends: Trend direction is color-coded:
Green for bullish trends.
Purple for bearish trends.
Volume Labels: Each bar or area has a label showing the normalized volume value 0-4 for easier interpretation.
Trend Change Detection: Automatically identifies trend reversals by recalculating the SuperTrend levels and adjusting volume visualization accordingly.
🔵 Usage:
Trend Identification: Use the color-coded trend bands to confirm the current market direction and identify potential reversals.
Volume Confirmation: Assess the strength of trends using normalized volume inside the bands. Higher normalized volume indicates stronger market conviction.
Peak Volume can be a signal of the mean reversion of price
Customization: Adjust the visualization type (bars or area) based on personal preference or analysis needs.
Dynamic Updates: Use volume labels and trend bands to stay updated on market shifts and trading opportunities in real time.
SuperTrend Volume is a versatile tool suitable for traders who want to combine trend analysis with volume dynamics for a more comprehensive view of the market. It is ideal for identifying trend strength, detecting reversals, and gauging the participation of market players during directional moves.
Orion:Supertrend HybridSupertrend Hybrid
This indicator is a combination of the Supertrend and Donchian Channels.
The original Supertrend indicator shades the area from the mean (hl2) of the bar/candle to the Supertrend line.
This Hybrid uses the mid section of the Donchian channel to the Supertrend line as the area to be shaded.
This provides a visual of when prices are getting close to potentially reversing the trend.
Values:
Length = Length of the Donchian Channels (Default: 12)
ATR Length = Lookback length of the ATR calculation (Default: 10)
Factor = Multiply the ATR by this value to get a trend reversal value (Default: 3.0)
Prices cross above the red line indicating a bullish trend is in play
Prices cross below the green line indicating a bearish trend is in play
Yellow line represents the mid-section of the Donchian Channel.
Suggested usage:
Add a Stochastic and set the Stochastic %K Length to the same value as the Donchian Length.
When below trend (red line dominate) and prices cross into the shaded area, if stochastic crosses above 70, prices may challenge/cross the red trend line.
When above trend (green line dominate) and prices cross into the shaded area, if stochastic crosses below 30, prices may challenge/cross the green trend line.
IF in an up trend (green line dominate) and stochastic crosses/remains above 70, potential higher price movement exists.
IF in an down trend (red line dominate) and stochastic crosses/remains below 30, potential lower price movement exists.
SuperTrend Momentum Chart(My goal creating this indicator) : Provide a quick way to check the current momentum of multiple timeframes. The Smart Momentum Chart was intended to be a live trading tool that should be used when a trader has already defined his edge and no longer needs the past Momentum data.
The Underlying Concept
What is Momentum ?
The Momentum shown is derived from a Mathematical Formula SUPERTREND , when price is above SUPERTREND its bullish Momentum and when its below SUPERTREND its Bearish Momentum. This indicator scans for candle closes on the timeframes you've selected and when there is a shift in momentum it notifies the trader with a color change and an alert if one was set up.
Technical inputs
- If you want to optimize the rate of signals to better fit your trading plan you would change the Factor input and ATR Length input. Increase factor and ATR Length to decrease the frequency of signals and decrease the Factor and ATR Length to increase the frequency of signals.
Quick TIP! : You can Sync all VFX SuperTrend Indicators together! All VFX SuperTrend indicators display unique information but its all derived from that same Momentum Formula. Keep the Factor input and ATR Length the same on other VFX SuperTrend indicators to have them operating on the same data.
Time Frame Inputs
- Your able to fill the chart with up to 8 timeframes
- If You don't need all 8 you can limit the amount to display by changing the "Time Frame Amount"
Display Inputs
- You can change the size of the chart and the color of the text
- You can toggle ON if you want to be signaled when a momentum switch occurs ( bullish to bearish or bearish to bullish )
- Your able to pick the Bullish and Bearish Colors of the Momentum switch
How it can be used ?
- Easily check the momentum of other Timeframes and use that information as a variable in your trading plan.
- quickly glance and know the momentum of any time frame before you enter any trade
- always know the momentum of the higher time frames
- Eliminate the need to switch from current chart
- Get an abundance of information in one location
- Have clear variables to structure your trades around
Supertrend - Ladder ATRThis is a supertrend with slight twisted concept which can be very benefecial in strong trending markets to reduce stop loss distance and exit slightly quicker.
⬜ Concept
▶ When the instrument is trending up, regular ATR shows high values if there are big green candles. This affect the stoploss distance in regular supertrend which leads to wide stops or delayed lagging. When you are in long trade, what matters for stoploss is how much a negative candle can move within bar. Hence, using ATR derived only based on red candles is more beneficial for trailing stops on long signals. Same applies to short trades where using ATR derived from only green candles is more efficient than overall ATR.
▶ ATR will be minimal when the volatility is less and ATR will increase with volatility. That means, once you are in trade, the trailing of stoploss also will vary based on ATR (or volatility). With regular ATR and supertrend, chances of stop loss distance widening is high with increased volatility even though stoploss levels will not move down. This again poses the risk of higher drawdown during trade closure and also keeps in the trade during ranging market. To avoid this, the second trick we are using here is only to reduce the atr stoploss difference when in trade. That is, when in long trade and negative candles ATR is increasing, we will not consider that. We will consider the new ATR only if it is lesser than previous bar ATR.
Effect of these changes on the trending market is quite visual. Lets take example of USDTRY
Settings are quite simple and does not vary much from regular supertrend settings.
Supertrend Screener LABELThis screens for Supertrend reversal's in 10 different securities. The main logic for the screener is taken from "Simple Custom Screener in Pinescript" by QuantNomad with his permission. If the label color is not visible due to the text in it being white colored, then choose a different color from settings. Also added a simple supertrend to it.
Terminology explanation:
Confirmed Reversal: Supertrend reversal that happened in the last bar and cannot be repainted.
Potential Reversal: Supertrend reversal that might happen in the current bar but can also not happen depending upon the timeframe closing price.
Uptrend/Downtrend : Shows all the tickers that are either currently in uptrend or downtrend.
