Hello! First of all, let me introduce myself a little bit. I don't come from the world of finance, but from the world of information and communication technologies (ICT) where we specialize in data processing with the aim of automating it and eliminating all human factors and actors in the processes. You could say that I am an algotrader.
That said, in my journey through trading in recent years I have understood that this world is often shown to be incomplete. All those who want to learn about trading only end up learning a small part of what it really entails, they only seek to learn how to read candlesticks. Therefore, I want to share with the entire community a fraction of what I have really understood it to be.
As a computer scientist, the most important thing is the data, it is the raw material of our work and without data you simply cannot do anything. Entropy is simple: Data in -> Data is transformed -> Data out.
The quality of the outgoing data will directly depend on the incoming data, there is no greater mystery or magic in the process. In trading it is no different, because at the end of the day it is nothing more than data. As we often say, if garbage comes in, garbage comes out.
Most people focus on the results only, on the outgoing data, because in the end we all want the same thing, to make easy money. Very few pay attention to the input data, much less to the process.
Now, I am not here to delude you, because there is no bigger lie than easy money, but I am here to give you a boilerplate code that will help you create strategies where you only have to concentrate on the quality of the incoming data.
To the Point
The code is a strategy boilerplate that applies the technique that you decide to customize for the criteria for opening a position. It already has the other factors involved in trading programmed and automated.
1. The Entry
This section of the boilerplate is the one that each individual must customize according to their needs and knowledge. The code is offered with two simple, well-known strategies to exemplify how the code can be reused for your own benefits.
For the purposes of this post on tradingview, I am going to use the simplest of the known strategies in trading for entries: SMA Crossing

But the goal of this post is not to sell you a dream, else to show you that the same Entry decision works very well for some and does not for others and with this boilerplate code you only have to think of entries, not exits.
2. Schedules, Days, Sessions
As you know, there are an infinite number of markets that are susceptible to the sessions of each country and the news that they announce during those sessions, so the code already offers parameters so that you can condition the days and hours of operation, filter the best time parameters for a specific market and time frame.
3. Data Filtering
The data offered in trading are numerical series presented in vectors on a time axis where an endless number of mathematical equations can be applied to process them, with matrix calculation and non-linear regressions being the best, in my humble opinion.
4. Read Fundamental Macroeconomic Events, News
The boilerplate has integration with the tradingview SDK to detect when news will occur and offers parameters so that you can enable an exclusion time margin to not operate anything during that time window.
5. Direction and Sense
In my experience I have found the peculiarity that the same algorithm works very well for a market in a time frame, but for the same market in another time frame it is only a waste of time and money. So now you can easily decide if you only want to open LONG, SHORT or both side positions and know how effective your strategy really is.
6. Reading the money, THE PURPOSE OF EVERYTHING
The most important section in trading and the reason why many clients usually hire me as a financial programmer, is reading and controlling the money, because in the end everyone wants to win and no one wants to lose. Now they can easily parameterize how the money should flow and this is the genius of this boilerplate, because it is what will really decide if an algorithm (Indicator: A bunch of math equations) for entries will really leave you good money over time.
7. Managing the Risk, The Ego Destroyer
Many trades, little money. Most traders focus on making money and none of them know about statistics and the few who do know something about it, only focus on the winrate. Well, with this code you can unlock what really matters, the true success criteria to be able to live off of trading: Profit Factor, Sortino Ratio, Sharpe Ratio and most importantly, will you really make money?
8. Managing Emotions
Finally, the main reason why many lose money is because they are very bad at managing their emotions, because with this they will no longer need to do so because the boilerplate has already programmed criteria to chase the price in a position, cut losses and maximize profits.
In short, this is a boilerplate code that already has the data processing and data output ready, you only have to worry about the data input.

Stop-Loss/Take-Profit: Hits stop or TP (strategy.exit).
Trailing Stop: Activates at 50% TP, trails by ATR * 1.5.
Emergency Exit: Closes if price breaches stop (close < long_stop_price or close > short_stop_price).

█ OVERVIEW
This script implements the "Continuation Index" as described by John F. Ehlers in the September 2025 edition of TASC's Trader's Tips . The Continuation Index uses Laguerre filters (featured in the July 2025 edition) to provide an early indication of trend direction, continuation, and exhaustion.
█ CONCEPTS
The idea for the Continuation Index was formed from an observation about Laguerre filters. In his article, Ehlers notes that when price is in trend, it tends to stay to one side of the filter. When considering smoothing, the UltimateSmoother was an obvious choice to reduce lag. With that in mind, The Continuation Index normalizes the difference between UltimateSmoother and the Laguerre filter to produce a two-state oscillator.
To minimize lag, the UltimateSmoother length in this indicator is fixed to half the length of the Laguerre filter.
█ USAGE
The Continuation Index consists of two primary states.
+1 suggests that the trader should position on the long side.
-1 suggests that the user should position on the short side.
Other readings can imply other opportunities, such as:
High Value Fluctuation could be used as a "buy the dip" opportunity.
Low Value Fluctuation could be used as a "sell the pop" opportunity.
█ INPUTS
By understanding the inputs and adjusting them as needed, each trader can benefit more from this indicator:
Gamma : Controls the Laguerre filter's response. This can be set anywhere between 0 and 1. If set to 0, the filter’s value will be the same as the UltimateSmoother.
Order : Controls the lag of the Laguerre filter, which is important when considering the timing of the system for spotting reversals. This can be set from 1 to 10, with lower values typically producing faster timing.
Length : Affects the smoothing of the display. Ehlers recommends starting with this value set to the intended amount of time you plan to hold a position. Consider your chart timeframe when setting this input. For example, on a daily chart, if you intend to hold a position for one month, set a value of 20.
Floating Bands of the Argentine Peso (Sebastian.Waisgold)
The BCRA ( Central Bank of the Argentine Republic ) announced that as of Monday, April 15, 2025, the Argentine Peso (USDARS) will float within a system of divergent exchange rate bands.
The upper band was set at ARS 1400 per USD on 15/04/2025, with a +1% monthly adjustment distributed daily, rising by a fraction each day.
The lower band was set at ARS 1000 per USD on 15/04/2025, with a –1% monthly adjustment distributed daily, falling by a fraction each day.
This indicator is crucial for anyone trading USDARS, since the BCRA will only intervene in these situations:
- Selling : if the Peso depreciates against the USD above the upper band .
- Buying : if the Peso appreciates against the USD below the lower band .
Therefore, this indicator can be used as follows:
- If USDARS is above the upper band , it is “expensive” and you may sell .
- If USDARS is below the lower band , it is “cheap” and you may buy .
It can also be applied to other assets such as:
- USDTARS
- Dollar Cable / CCL (Contado con Liquidación) , derived from the BCBA:YPFD / NYSE:YPF ratio.
A mid band —exactly halfway between the upper and lower bands—has also been added.

z-score-calkusi-v1.143z-scores incorporate the moment of N look-back bars to allow future price projection.
z-score = (X - mean)/std.deviation ; X = close
z-scores update with each new close print and with each new bar. Each new bar augments the mean and std.deviation for the N bars considered. The old Nth bar falls away from consideration with each new historical bar.
The indicator allows two other options for X: RSI or Moving Average.
NOTE: While trading use the "price" option only.
The other two options are provided for visualisation of RSI and Moving Average as z-score curves.
Use z-scores to identify tops and bottoms in the future as well as intermediate intersections through which a z-score will pass through with each new close and each new bar.
Draw lines from peaks and troughs in the past through intermediate peaks and troughs to identify projected intersections in the future. The most likely intersections are those that are formed from a line that comes from a peak in the past and another line that comes from a trough in the past. Try getting at least two lines from historical peaks and two lines from historical troughs to pass through a future intersection.
Compute the target intersection price in the future by clicking on the z-score indicator header to see a drag-able horizontal line to drag over the intersection. The target price is the last value displayed in the indicator's status bar after the closing price.
When the indicator header is clicked, a white horizontal drag-able line will appear to allow dragging the line over an intersection that has been drawn on the indicator for a future z-score projection and the associated future closing price.
With each new bar that appears, it is necessary to repeat the procedure of clicking the z-score indicator header to be able to drag the drag-able horizontal line to see the new target price for the selected intersection. The projected price will be different from the current close price providing a price arbitrage in time.
New intermediate peaks and troughs that appear require new lines be drawn from the past through the new intermediate peak to find a new intersection in the future and a new projected price. Since z-score curves are sort of cyclical in nature, it is possible to see where one has to locate a future intersection by drawing lines from past peaks and troughs.
Do not get fixated on any one projected price as the market decides which projected price will be realised. All prospective targets should be manually updated with each new bar.
When the z-score plot moves outside a channel comprised of lines that are drawn from the past, be ready to adjust to new market conditions.
z-score plots that move above the zero line indicate price action that is either rising or ranging. Similarly, z-score plots that move below the zero line indicate price action that is either falling or ranging. Be ready to adjust to new market conditions when z-scores move back and forth across the zero line.
A bar with highest absolute z-score for a cycle screams "reversal approaching" and is followed by a bar with a lower absolute z-score where close price tops and bottoms are realised. This can occur either on the next bar or a few bars later.
The indicator also displays the required N for a Normal(0,1) distribution that can be set for finer granularity for the z-score curve.This works with the Confidence Interval (CI) z-score setting. The default z-score is 1.96 for 95% CI.

This provides a range for prices available at the current time to help decide whether it is worth entering a trade. If the range of prices from say z=|2| to z=|1| is too narrow, then a trade at the current time may not be worth the risk.

This feature allows likelihood assessment for Fibonacci price projections from higher time frames at lower time frames. A Fibonacci price projection that falls outside |3.x| Std.Deviations is not likely.
Added Settings option for Chart Bar Count and Target Label Offset to allow placement of price labels for the standard z-score levels to the right of the window so that these are still visible in the window.
Target Label Offset allows adjustment of placement of Target Price Label in cases when the Target Price Label is either obscured by the price labels for the standard z-score levels or is too far right to be visible in the window.

Displays in the status line before the close price the range for the selected Std. Deviation levels specified in Settings and |z-zMa|.
When |z-zMa| > |avg(z-zMa)| and zMa rising, |z-zMa| and zMa displays in aqua.
When |z-zMa| > |avg(z-zMa)| and zMa falling, |z-zMa| and zMa displays in red.
When |z-zMa| <= |avg(z-zMa)|, z and zMa display in gray.
z usually crosses over zMa when zMa is gray but not always. So if cross-over occurs when zMa is not gray, it implies a strong move in progress.

What it is
A lightweight “Weekly % Tracker” overlay that lets you manually enter weekly performance (in percent) for XAUUSD + up to 10 FX pairs, then shows:
a small table panel with each enabled symbol and its % result
one TOTAL row (Sum / Average / Compounded across all enabled symbols)
an optional mini badge showing the % for a single selected symbol
Nothing is auto-calculated from price—you type the % yourself.

How it works
Overlay indicator: overlay=true; just draws UI on the chart (no plots).
Arrays (syms, vals, ons) collect the row data in order: XAU first, then FX1…FX10.
Helpers:
posFrom() converts a position string (e.g., “Top Right”) into a position.* constant.
wp_col() picks green/red/neutral based on the sign of the %.
wp_round() rounds values to the selected decimals.
calc_total() computes the TOTAL with the chosen mode over enabled rows only.
Table creation logic:
Counts how many rows are enabled.
If none enabled or panel is off: the panel table is deleted, so no box/background is visible.
If enabled and on: the panel is (re)created at the chosen position.
On each last bar (barstate.islast), it clears the table to transparent (bgcolor=na) and then fills one row per enabled symbol, followed by a single TOTAL row.
Mini badge:
Always (re)created on position change.
Shows selected symbol’s % (or “-” if that symbol isn’t enabled or has no value).
Colors text green/red by sign.
Notes & limits
It’s manual input—the script doesn’t read trades or P/L from price.
You can rename each row’s label to match any symbol name you want.
When no rows are enabled, the panel disappears entirely (no empty background).
Designed to be light: only draws tables; no heavy plotting.

Moving Average Types
The indicator offers eight smoothing options for the OBV line, each with unique characteristics:

Why chosen:
- A 12-bar displacement highlights significant inefficiencies in price structure while filtering out micro-gaps that appear every few bars in high-volatility markets.
- By aligning FVG signals with candle direction (bullish = close > open, bearish = close < open), the strategy avoids random gaps and instead targets ones that suggest exhaustion.
Application in strategy:
- Bullish FVGs form when earlier lows sit above current highs, hinting at downward over-extension.
- Bearish FVGs form when earlier highs sit below current lows, hinting at upward over-extension.

TASC 2025.07 Laguerre Filters█ OVERVIEW
This script implements the Laguerre filter and oscillator described by John F. Ehlers in the article "A Tool For Trend Trading, Laguerre Filters" from the July 2025 edition of TASC's Traders' Tips . The new Laguerre filter utilizes the UltimateSmoother filter in place of an exponential moving average (EMA) in its calculation, offering improved responsiveness and reduced lag.
█ CONCEPTS
As Ehlers explains in his article, the Laguerre filter is a form of transversal filter . A transversal filter calculates an output signal using a tapped delay line . It creates multiple delayed versions of an input signal, applies weight to each delay, and then calculates their sum to generate the filtered result.
The Laguerre filter's structure relies on Laguerre polynomials — solutions to a differential equation solved by Edmond Laguerre in the 1800s. When Ehlers analyzed the formula for these polynomials on discrete systems (e.g., financial time series), he found that the first term's expression corresponds to an EMA response, and all subsequent terms correspond to an all-pass response. In contrast to other filter types, an all-pass filter produces phase shift (i.e., delay) in an input signal's components without affecting its amplitude.
Ehlers observed that these characteristics of Laguerre polynomials make them suitable for use in a transversal filter structure, and thus the Laguerre filter was born. However, he notes that EMAs are not great filters in general. As such, to improve on the Laguerre filter's design, Ehlers modified it by replacing the EMA term with his UltimateSmoother filter. The resulting Laguerre filter has significantly reduced lag, achieving a tighter response to market fluctuations while maintaining smoothness. Ehlers suggests that traders can analyze crossings between the UltimateSmoother and this Laguerre filter, or those between two Laguerre filters of different order, for helpful buy and sell signals.
In addition to the Laguerre filter, Ehlers derived a smooth, low-lag oscillator based on the difference between the first and second terms in the modified filter structure, scaled by the root mean square (RMS). The resulting oscillator provides an alternative filtered representation of market data, which can help traders identify swing and mean-reversion signals.

This indicator calculates both the Laguerre filter and the Laguerre oscillator described in Ehlers' article. It displays the Laguerre filter on the main chart pane and the oscillator in a separate pane.
Users can control the behavior of the filter and oscillator with the inputs in the "Settings/Inputs" tab:
The "Period" input defines the critical period of the UltimateSmoother used in the Laguerre filter and oscillator calculations. Its default value is 30.
The "Gamma" input determines the weighting behavior of the Laguerre filter and oscillator. It accepts a positive value between 0 and 1. Use a lower value for quicker responsiveness to market changes, and a higher value for trends. The default value is 0.5.
The "RMS length" input determines the length of the RMS calculation for oscillator normalization. The default value is 100 bars.

BackToBasic XEMA extends a classic EMA-crossover setup with real-time profit-and-loss tracking and a horizontal trailing-stop line, giving traders both clear entry/exit signals and built-in risk management.
How It Works
Dual EMAs – Calculates Fast and Slow EMAs.
Crossover Signals – Generates a Buy when the Fast EMA crosses above the Slow EMA, and a Sell when it crosses below.
PnL Lines & Labels – On every direction flip the script computes price difference × contracts, draws a line from entry to exit, and labels the result in green (profit) or red (loss).
Horizontal Trailing Stop – After price moves in profit by at least trailStartPips, a trail line is placed trailBufferPips away from the chosen EMA and moves only in the trade’s favour.

Essa - Multi-Timeframe LevelsEnhanced Multi‐Timeframe Levels
This indicator plots yearly, quarterly and monthly highs, lows and midpoints on your chart. Each level is drawn as a horizontal line with an optional label showing “ – ” (for example “Apr 2025 High – 1.2345”). If two or more timeframes share the same price (within two ticks), they are merged into a single line and the label lists each timeframe.
A distance table can be shown in any corner of the chart. It lists up to five active levels closest to the current closing price and shows for each level:

Alerts can be enabled so that whenever price comes within a user-specified percentage of any level (for example 0.1 %), an alert fires. Once price decisively crosses a level, that level is marked as “broken” so it does not trigger again. Built-in alertcondition hooks are also provided for definite breaks of the current monthly, quarterly and yearly highs and lows.
Monthly lookback is configurable (default 6 months), and once the number of levels exceeds a cap (calculated as 20 + monthlyLookback × 3), the oldest levels are automatically removed to avoid clutter. Line widths and colours (with adjustable opacity for quarterly and monthly) can be set separately for each timeframe. Touches of each level are counted internally to allow future extension (for example visually emphasising levels with multiple touches).
