How to trade on TradingView
Welcome to the tradingverse.
With us, you can trade directly from Supercharts by connecting multiple top verified brokers and crypto exchanges.
TradingView only acts as an interface — we don’t process your trades and don’t store your broker credentials.
In this article, we'll cover the advantages of trading through our Trading Panel and Supercharts, how to place trades, and what other trading features are available for TradingViewers.

Trading functionality
! Important: Trading features available are determined by your broker.
After you've connected your broker, press the "Trade" button.

There you will see the Order Panel and the Depth of Market diagram.
Depth of Market
With TradingView, if your broker provides Level 2 data, you can place orders using the Depth of Market diagram — a tool that helps you understand the current supply and demand for a particular asset.
But before you dive in, learn how to use the Depth of Market with our Paper Trading simulator to practice identifying what market participants are anticipating.
Order Panel
For different strategies and asset types, you may want to place different types of orders. To do this, find the settings and order presets at the top of the panel and get going.
Customize the Order Panel to suit your needs:
- Choose to show order price in ticks
- Enable SL based on risk quantity
- Show TP/SL inputs in currency
- Show TP/SL inputs in percent
Save your order presets to quickly switch between them later. You'll find your saved presets in the same menu. TradingView will remember order input data:
- Order type
- Price
- Brackets
- Order validity period
Set ticks to zero to make the price adjust automatically to the current reading from your broker.
Choose one of the following values in the dropdown menu to define the total order size for future trades:
- Cash amount equivalent in the account's currency: The approximate cash amount you will spend on the order. If you trade an asset that has leverage defined in your account settings, this value will be multiplied for the total order size.
- % balance: The order size is calculated based on a percentage of your account balance
- Risk in currency: Requires setting a stop-loss; the order size is calculated based on the risk defined in a currency value
- % risk: Requires the setting of a stop-loss — the order size is calculated based on the percentage of risk you define
Stop-losses and take-profits can be expressed in four different ways. You only need to set one — the other values will be calculated automatically.
- Ticks
- Asset's price
- Currency
- Percent
In the Order info section, you can see the details about your order. When an order is executed, this will become "Position info," containing the information about your trade.
For both orders and trades, this information section includes the following values:
- Leverage
- Value in ticks or pips
- Trade value
- And more
Supercharts trading
One of the core TradingView features, Supercharts allow you to conduct your analysis and set orders in one space. Customize your Supercharts and control what they display. They are fully synced with the Order Panel — no need to copy and paste values. Just simple charting as it should be.
Whether you're trading in Paper or live, orchestrate your trades directly from Supercharts with full control over your orders. They can display your current positions, their TPs and SLs, as well as any pending orders. Moreover, simply drag your orders' inputs up or down — they will update accordingly.
With Supercharts you can:
- Create orders directly on the chart
- Manage your brackets effortlessly
- Preview future orders before order submitting
- Easily modify orders by dragging them
If you spot an entry point while charting, right-click and select "Create new order" — the Order Panel will appear. Both Supercharts and the Order Panel are fully synced — no need to copy and paste values.
To master your order setup, learn how to configure your Supercharts to optimize both appearance and functionality.
If you need to declutter your current chart, find the "Hide" options in the left drawing toolbar, then choose "Hide all positions & orders."

! Important: If you drag the placed buy order lower, to the current price, the buy order will trigger. The same rule applies to the sell order — drag it higher to execute it immediately.
Instant order placement
Remember the presets? They work perfectly for placing instant orders.
Place market buy and sell orders without confirmation with the "Sell" and "Buy" buttons in the upper-left corner.
To activate the display of these buttons, follow a few steps:
- Go to the Superchart settings
- Find the "Trading" section
- Tick the "Buy/sell buttons"
- Tick the "Instant orders placement"

For your convenience, use the following:
- Shift+B to buy
- Shift+S to sell
! Note: The saved preset defines the order type you will place with these buttons and hotkeys. For example, if a preset is saved with limit order type, the "Sell" and "Buy" buttons and hotkeys will place limit orders. You can always press "Reset order preset" to return to placing market orders.
To view all available hotkeys, click your profile picture in the upper-left corner and select "Keyboard shortcuts."

! Important: When instant orders placement is enabled, the values for orders will be used as defined in the preset settings — not the values in your Order Panel.
Account manager
This section of the Trading Panel contains various information.
- Your balance
- Past trades
- Current orders and positions
- Pending, rejected, and canceled orders
This also depends on your broker and the information it provides.
