Rank

What is Rank?

Rank shows the position of a cryptocurrency in the overall ranking based on its calculated market capitalization. The higher the market cap, the higher the position (i.e., the lower the rank number).

However, the ranking is influenced not only by raw numerical data but also by an internal prioritization system: more reliable and well-known projects — typically those in the top 200 — are given greater weight. This approach improves the accuracy of the final ranking and reflects the asset’s stability in the market.

As a result, the order by the Rank metric may slightly differ from a pure market cap sort. For example, coins like STETH or WBTC may have a high market cap but receive a lower rank due to reduced priority in the system, affecting the ranking of coins that follow them.
