I think there is one way that Apple can prevent from falling from its graces and that would be to shift its business strategy to a focus on data security and privacy. Now that everyone is so used to their Apple products and the interoperability between them, I think they'll feel really good about keeping their Apple products if they feel Apple has an interest in their privacy and begins to offer products and services that align with this.
Instead of talking to Alexa, why not have an Apple product that has all the same capabilities but can also function as your own cloud (but still has built in redundancy that backs up to a centralized server in the event something goes wrong with your personal cloud). Let's not refer to it as a 'cloud' though, and instead call it a Copycat - Copy, Categorize And Transfer.
I can also see Apple becoming wildly successful if they call me about another idea I have for them. If Apple implements this idea they would become the most successful personal communications device selling company in HISTORY and set the standard world-wide. But it will cost them.
