When those negative price dynamics combine with the fundamental and economic backdrop, the “risk” of having excessive exposure to the markets outweighs the potential reward. “Remember, investing is not a competition; it is a game of long-term survival.
I learned it as, "Pigs get fat, Hogs get slaughtered." (A little bit of a "good thing" is great, but we need to learn when to step away from the trough before it's too late.)
