-Looking at the chart, it is clear that the VIX is mean-reverting
-I do not think you can apply breakout TA because the VIX is not something people can directly buy, but just a gauge of votality.
-There is no fundamental reason for the sell-off in SPX, interest rate hikes are not enough to bring it 10% down.
