In statistics, linear regression is a linear approach to modeling the relationship between a scalar response and one or more explanatory variables. An explanatory variable is called simple linear regression. For multiple descriptive variables, the process is called multiple linear regression.
Regression analysis is performed in order to determine the relationship between two or more variables including cause-effect relationship and to make predictions or predictions about that subject by using this relationship.
