Setup

Profiler & Summary
Gain an instant overview of market dynamics and highlight the most important metrics, presented in a simple and stylish format. Helps traders quickly assess key market indicators, allowing for a swift initial analysis that can guide more detailed explorations.
A concise yet comprehensive summary offers insights into the current market status, allowing for easy comparison across different markets. On top of that, it presents SMC and market session summaries, providing additional confluence to aid your strategy.

The graph combines six unique indicators — Momentum, Trend Strength, Volume, Volatility, Asset Strength, and Sentiment (Fear & Greed) — along with Structure and Sessions. These indicators use our SMC Core and TMC algorithms to provide a comprehensive overview of market dynamics.

  • *algoat SMC Core is our continually evolving, specialized structure mapping algorithm, serving as the backbone of our price action related publications.
*algoat TMC (Trend Matrix Core) algorithm is our flexible moving average matrix calculation designed to assess market trend direction, strength, and shifts. It complements SMC Core as confluence.

Unique Metrics and indicators
By leveraging the combination of our six unique indicators the Profiler can provide a comprehensive and multi-dimensional view of market dynamics.
Sentiment (Fear & Greed index): Estimates market investor sentiment using the TMC algorithm enriched with the SMC Core.
  • Derived from the TMC algorithm, enriched with the SMC Core structure mapping algorithm, weighted by the long-term relative price action strength within a windowed timeframe, estimating market investor sentiment. Helps gauge overall market mood, influencing trading strategies based on prevailing sentiment.

Momentum: Measures the momentum and direction of financial instruments.
  • A highly reactive indicator, derived from TMC, weighted by recent relative price action strength within a windowed timeframe, estimating the momentum and direction of financial instruments or assets in any market conditions. Assists in identifying the strength and direction of market movements.

Trend Strength: Assesses the strength of a trend or the absence of a trend.
  • Derived from the adjusted Sentiment (Fear & Greed index), weighted by the adjusted Momentum indicator, impartially estimating the strength of a trend or the absence of a trend. Provides insight into whether a current trend is likely to continue or reverse.

Volume Strength: Indicates current volume strength relative to the average monitored.
  • A scaled representation of lower timeframe volumetric strength, is dynamically adjusted to the relevant windowed timeframe, indicating current volume strength relative to the average monitored. Highlights periods of high or low trading activity, which can signal potential trade opportunities.

Volatility and Squeeze: Indicates current volume strength relative to the average monitored.
  • A scaled representation of price deviation, weighted by lower timeframe volumetric strength, dynamically adjusted to the relevant windowed timeframe, indicating current volatility and the absence of volatility relative to the average monitored. Helps traders understand price stability and potential for significant market moves.

Asset Strength: Measures absolute strength of an asset compared to others.
  • Derived scaled absolute strength index from A/B comparison of different asset metrics over a windowed timeframe based on the SMC Core structure mapping algorithm. Facilitates asset comparison to identify the strongest or weakest performers.

Cross-Indicator Validation
Important! The Profiler graph provides a summarized overview of the latest metrics for selected market dynamics. These metrics are derived from algorithms thoroughly evaluated across various indicators within the same ecosystem. It is recommended to manually validate these summarized values against their original indicators:
▸ Sentiment, Momentum, Trend Strength, Volume, Volatility, and Asset Strength: Validate using algoat Flux.
▸ Structure, including Structure Trend and Order Flow: Validate using algoat SMC Prime.

Session information is available directly in the algoat Profiler.

Deep delta volume profile
The indicator provides a detailed estimate of total traded volume and its delta during a user-defined period. It visualizes volume distribution to identify key support and resistance levels, balanced and unbalanced markets, and trend strength. The indicator supports multiple visualization methods, allowing traders to choose the approach that best fits their strategy. Both the position and size of the Volume Profile are fully customizable, and profiles can even be flipped as needed.

  • The Deep Delta estimates which side was dominant at that price level and by how much. It represents the difference between bull and bear volumes of the candle, drilling down to lower timeframes.

Market Sessions
This feature — by default — provides a clear representation of the four major global trading sessions *supported with deep delta volume profile. Each session is distinctly marked on your trading chart, helping you visualize the specific time periods when these markets are most active. Whether you're a day trader looking to exploit intraday volatility or a long-term investor wanting to understand broader market trends, the Market Sessions feature can be a useful tool in your trading toolkit. Don't forget to align indicator timezone settings according to your region!
*Displays volume profiles for each session, providing insights into market behavior during different times of the day. This is useful for identifying periods of high activity and potential trading opportunities.

Previous DWM data (Previous Day, Week, Month OHLC levels)

In trading, the “Previous Open/High/Low/Close” (or previous OHLC) refers to the opening, high, low and closing price of the instrument in the previous period. These prices are typically used in technical analysis to identify trends and patterns and to make trading decisions. Some traders may also use the differences between the opening, high, low and closing prices to make trading decisions. For example, the difference between the closing and opening price (the so-called “true body”) and the high and low price (the so-called “upper shadow” and “lower shadow”) can indicate the strength of a trend, whether the bulls or bears are controlling the market, and can also give an idea of market volatility. They are also used as support and resistance levels.
  • Previous Open: shows the opening price of the previous period. It's the price at which the market first started trading in that period.
  • Previous High: represents the highest price reached during the previous period. It can act as a resistance level for the current period.
  • Previous Low: indicates the lowest price hit during the previous period. It can serve as a support level in the current period.
  • Previous Close: the last price at which the asset traded during the previous period. It's often considered the most accurate reflection of market sentiment at the end of that period.

These values provide a summary of the previous trading period's price action, giving you a baseline for comparing current price movements. They can help in understanding the market's direction and identifying potential support and resistance levels. It is important to keep in mind that, like any other technical indicator, Previous OHLC does not give a definitive indication of future market direction and should be used in conjunction with other analytical tools, as well as fundamental analysis and market sentiment. It is also important to have appropriate risk management in place.

👉 Integration and Use

Combining the Tools: Use the Profiler features in conjunction to confirm trends, important levels and trading ideas.

  1. Start with the Profiler Graph (detailed market overview): Quickly gauge overall market dynamics using the summary of key metrics. This sets the stage for further analysis.
  2. Analyze Deep Delta Volume Profile: Use this to confirm the sentiment and other relevant key metrics by identifying key support and resistance levels. The delta volumes help determine if bulls or bears are dominating, providing clarity on the strength of identified levels.
  3. (Optional for intra-day trading) Align with Market Sessions: Apply the insights from the first two steps to specific trading sessions. Understanding when the market is most active allows for strategic entry and exit points, optimizing trade timing and reducing risk.
Pro tip: Apply the Volume Profile to sessions for even deeper analyses.
  4. (Optional) Apply algorithms to color-code the candlesticks: Enhance the visual representation of data to match your trading style, making it easier to interpret and act on market information.

Example Scenario:
  • The market overview indicates a bullish trend with strong momentum and volume strength.
  • The Deep Delta Volume Profile shows strong support levels aligning with the 0.5 Fibonacci retracement level.
  • Analyzing the Market Sessions highlights increased activity during the New York session.
Action: Place a buy order at the identified support level at the start of the New York session, with a stop-loss below the support level and a take-profit at the next resistance level.

🧠 General advice

Trading effectively requires a range of techniques, experience, and expertise. From technical analysis to market fundamentals, traders must navigate multiple factors, including market sentiment and economic conditions. However, traders often find themselves overwhelmed by market noise, making it challenging to filter out distractions and make informed decisions. By integrating multiple analytical approaches, traders can tailor their strategies to fit their unique trading styles and objectives.

Confirming signals with other indicators
As with all technical indicators, it is important to confirm potential signals with other analytical tools, such as support and resistance levels, as well as indicators like RSI, MACD, and volume. This helps increase the probability of a successful trade.

Use proper risk management
When using this or any other indicator, it is crucial to have proper risk management in place. Consider implementing stop-loss levels and thoughtful position sizing.

Combining with other technical indicators
Integrate this indicator with other technical indicators to develop a comprehensive trading strategy and provide additional confirmation.

Conduct Thorough Research and Backtesting
Ensure a solid understanding of the indicator and its behavior through thorough research and backtesting before making trading decisions. Consider incorporating fundamental analysis and market sentiment into your trading approach.

Conclusion

We hold the view that the true path to success is the synergy between the trader and the tool, contrary to the common belief that the tool itself is the sole determinant of profitability. The actual scenario is more nuanced than such an oversimplification. A word to the wise is enough: developed by traders, for traders — pioneering innovations for the modern era.
