Double Inside bar // Consecutive Inside Bar = Ak47Double Inside Bar Indicator Or Consecutive Inside Bar Highlighting
This custom Pine Script indicator is crafted for traders who utilize the traditional Inside Bar . A Double Inside Bar is a more specific pattern, involving two consecutive bars that are both contained within the range of a preceding "mother bar". This script not only detects these patterns but also emphasizes consecutive occurrences with a distinctive visual marker, aiding traders in identifying these setups amidst market fluctuations.
Features:
Double Inside Bar Detection: Identifies Double Inside Bars, where two successive bars are completely contained within the range of the preceding bar. This pattern indicates potential continuation or reversal with a stronger conviction.
Consecutive Pattern Highlighting: Highlights consecutive Double Inside Bar patterns, offering a clear visual indication for traders. This feature can be enabled or disabled as per the user's preference.
Bullish and Bearish Color Coding: Differentiates bullish and bearish setups by coloring the bars green or red, respectively, providing immediate insights into market sentiment.
Unique Visual Markers: Utilizes shapes to indicate bullish (triangle up) and bearish (triangle down) Double Inside Bars. For consecutive patterns, irrespective of being bullish or bearish, a yellow diamond is displayed below the bar to focus on the pattern's potential for signaling substantial market moves.
Trading Strategy:
Buy Signal: When a Double Inside Bar pattern is detected, a buy signal is generated. The entry point for the trade is set just above the high of the mother bar, with a stop loss placed just below the low of the mother bar, aiming to capture upward breakouts effectively.
Sell Signal: A sell signal is indicated by the detection of a Double Inside Bar pattern. The trade entry is positioned just below the low of the mother bar, with a stop loss above the high of the mother bar, targeting potential downward breakouts.
Why Use This Indicator?
Enhanced Decision Making: By providing clear visual cues for Double Inside Bar patterns and especially emphasizing consecutive occurrences, traders can make more informed and confident decisions.
Adaptability: The ability to toggle the highlighting for consecutive patterns allows traders to customize the indicator to match their trading style and the prevailing market conditions.
Simplicity and Effectiveness: This indicator streamlines the detection of significant Double Inside Bar patterns, helping traders to focus on their strategy and manage their time more efficiently.
Conclusion
This Double Inside Bar Indicator is a vital tool for traders looking to leverage the predictive power of Double Inside Bar patterns. With its unique consecutive highlighting feature and intuitive color coding, it enhances trading strategies by pinpointing potential breakout opportunities with higher precision.
Inside
Inside Bars (Multiple / Consecutive)Description
When an inside bar is found, the indicator remembers the high and low (= range) of the candle before the inside bar.
As long as price moves within the range, every bar is highlighted as an inside bar to the range.
Purpose
The indicator can assist when identifying valid pullbacks and buy-side liquidity (BSL) / sell-side liquidity (SSL).
See inside Candles: Directionality %; Constituent Bars & GapsSee inside candles based on user-input LTF setting: get data on 'Directionality' of your candle; Gaps (total and Sum; UP and DOWN); Number of Bull or Bear constituent candles
//Features:
-DIRECTIONALITY: compare length of the 'zig-zag' random walk of lower time frame constituent candles, to the full height of the current candle. Resulting % I refer to as 'directionality'.
-GAPs: what i refer to as 'gaps' are also known as Volume imbalances: the gap between previous candles close and current candle's open (if there is one).
--Gaps total (up vs down gaps). Number of Up gaps printed above bar in green, down gaps printed below bar in red.
--Gaps Sum (total summed UP gap, total summed down gaps. Sum of Up gaps printed above bar in green, Sum of down gaps printed below bar in red.
-Candles Total: Numer of LTF up vs down candles within current timeframe candle. Number of up candles printed above bar in green, Number of down candles printed below bar in red.
//USAGE:
-Primary purpose in this was the Directionality aspect. Wanted to get a measure of how choppy vs how directional the internals of a candle were. Idea being that a candle with high % directionality (approaching 100) would imply trending conditions; while a candle which was large range and full bodies but had a low % directionality would imply the internals were back-and-forth and => rebalanced, potentially indicating price may not need to retrace back into it and rebalance further. All rather experimental, please treat it as such: have a play around with it.
-Number of gaps, Sums of up and down gaps, ratio of up and down constituent candles also intended to serve a similar purpose as the above.
-Set the input lower timeframe; this must obviously be lower then your current timeframe. You will significant differences in results depending on the ratio your timeframes (chart timeframe vs user-input timeframe).
//User Inputs:
-Lower timeframe input (setting child candle size within current chart parent candle).
-Choose function from the four listed above.
-typical formating options: Bull color/bear color txt for gaps functions.
-display % unit or not.
-display vertical or horizontal text.
-Set min / max directionality thresholds; and color code results.
-Toggle on/off 'hide results outside of threshold' to declutter the chart.
-choose label style.
//NOTES:
-Directionality thresholds can be set manually; Max and Min thresholds can be set to filter out 'non-extreme' readings.
-Note that directionality % can sometimes exceed 100%, in cases where price trends very strongly and gaps up continuously such that sum of constituent candles is less than total range of parent candle.
-Personally i like the idea of seeking bold, large-range, full bodied candles, with a lower than typical directionality %; indicating that a price move is both significant and it's already done it's rebalancing; I would see this as potentially favourable for continuation (obviously depending on context).
---- Showcase of the other functions beyond Directionality percentage ----
Candles Total (bull vs Bear). ES1! Hourly; ltf = 5min: Candles total: LTF up candles and LTF down candles making up the current HTF candle (constituent number of UP candles printed above in green, Down candles printed below in red):

Strategy Myth-Busting #10 - InsideBar+EMA - [MYN]This is part of a new series we are calling "Strategy Myth-Busting" where we take open public manual trading strategies and automate them. The goal is to not only validate the authenticity of the claims but to provide an automated version for traders who wish to trade autonomously.
Our 10th one we are automating is the " 75% Win Rate High Profit Inside Bar Trading Strategy - What If You ... " strategy from " Trade Pro " who claims to have backtested this manually and achieved 11,063% profit with a 75% winrate over 100 trades. I was unable to emulate these results consistently accommodating for slippage and commission but even so, the results look promising. I was only able to achieve this win-rate with some multiple take profit staggering. Even so the markdown is above where I would normally consider comfortable (>20%).
If you know of or have a strategy you want to see myth-busted or just have an idea for one, please feel free to message me.
This strategy uses a combination of 2 open-source public indicators:

MTFT Full Time Frame Continuity Table TheStrat Suite(2of5)Multi Time Frame Tools
Multi Time Frame Tools (MTFT) is a suite of scripts aimed to establish a standard timeframe-based color scheme. This can be utilized to overlay different timeframes calculations/values over a single timeframe. As one example, this would allow to observe the 5-month moving average, 5-week moving average, and 5-day moving average overlaid over each other. This would allow to study a chart, get accustomed to the color scheme and study all these at the same time much easier.
All indicators calculated using the below specific timeframes as input, will always use the color scheme outlined below. This is to get you in habit of recognizing the different timeframes overlaid in top of each other. These can be personalized.
Longer TF analysis.
Yearly - Black
Semi-Annual - Yellow
Quarterly - White
Monthly - Maroon
Weekly - Royal Blue
Daily - Lime
Shorter TF analysis.
4 hour - Fuchsia
1 hour - Orange
30 min - Red
15 min - Brown
10 min - Purple
5 min - Lilac
All color coordination is able to be modified in either the “Inputs” or “Style” section. If you need to make changes, make sure to select “Save as Default” on the bottom right of the settings menu.
Recommended Chart Color Layout
I played around with color coordination a lot. The final product was what worked best for me. I personally use the following chart settings to accent all available TF colors.
-> Click on the settings wheel on your chart. -> Click on “Appearance”.
Background - Solid -> On the top row pick the 6th color from the left.
Vert Grid Lines and Horz Grid Lines -> On the top row pick the 7th color from the left.
You may of course change these and the indicator line colors as you like.
Adding indicator to Chart
-> Open the TradingView “Indicators & Strategies” library, the icon has “ƒx”. -> All premium scripts will be located under “Invite-Only Scripts” -> Click indicator to add to your chart.
MTFT TheStrat Suite (5 Scripts)
Rob Smith is the creator of ‘TheStrat’ trading strategy. For ‘TheStrat’ I have put together a suite of 5 premium scripts that combined will offer people interested in learning ‘TheStrat’ a cleaner learning process. For 2 of the 5 scripts specifically, the MTFT approach of overlaying multiple longer timeframes(TF) over a shorter TF selected as a display cannot be utilized. The other 2 scripts will have full MTFT functionality and they are my personal favorite. I will be providing very basic info to utilize this script; it is up to you to dive deep into learning this strategy. I am not an expert with the tool or a financial advisor. As with all aspects of life, I recommend you research, learn, discern and practice extensively in order to become a master.

MTFT Full Time Frame Continuity Table, TheStrat Suite (2of5)
Full timeframe continuity observes what direction different timeframes are pointed at, red or green. This gives you a bias when evaluating a trade. Image below shows 3 instances of the script to outline the max capacity of the script.
Features includes:
1. Four user selected TFs, with 20 different TF to pick from per script instance. Timeframes(TF) include: Yearly(Y), Semi-annually(S), Quarterly(Q), Monthly(M), 2-Week(2W), Weekly(W), 3-Day(3D), Daily(D), 12 hour, 8 hour, 6 hour, 4 hour, 3 hour, 2 hour, 1 hour, 30 min, 15 min, 10 min, 5 min. The first row on the table cell will show the text for the selected timeframe.
2. Color text Green/Red timeframe based on candlestick status for the selected timeframe. Entire Table Cell text will be colored in this color. These can be customized to user preference.
3. Absolute Truth for most recently closed candlestick, plus the active candlestick. This will be displayed in the second row of the table cell. The value inside the brackets ‘ ’ is used for the previous closed candlestick. The value outside the brackets is for the active candlestick.
4. Label pattern if it’s “in force” or not. This only applies for the active candlestick absolute truth value. Note, ‘i’ means the absolute truth is in force. ‘x’ means the absolute truth is not in force.
5. Actionable Signal indication at bottom. If there is an inside candlestick, a hammer or a shooter, the script will display , , and respectively at the bottom on the third row.
6. Auto-hide Lower Timeframes. When the table cell value is smaller than the selected timeframe this timeframe will be hidden. This is done because their will be errors in calculations.
7. Customizable Table Cell Width for use in the different platforms, desktop/mobile. For desktop I use the setting.
IMPORTANT NOTE for TradingView admin: One of the lessons I would consider most important in attaining clarity regarding trading, is “TheStrat” by Rob Smith. His lesson on “actionable signals” is something that can be applied to any strategy. For this reason, I am including “MTFT TheStrat Patterns Pro” script in all images that will depict confluence for a better trade selection.
Example using TheStrat Pro MTFT with this indicator.
Look for a “TheStrat actionable signal” or a “TheStrat Reversal signal” along with this indicator showing several other larger timeframes Red/Green depending on the direction of the actionable signal.
The Image below shows what this would look like with this indicator. The selected candlestick is the Week, it shows a confirmed closed Shooting Star Actionable signal and below the table shows that the Current Week(W), Month(M), Quarter(Q), and Year(Y) are all Red. This actionable signal would be played for SHORTS. If the low is breached than you would enter a short. For targets you would look at the previous pivots, for this example all targets were hit. This wont always play out so nice and clean, but given that there is so many stocks and so many signals this is just a thought to improve the quality of the signal as it has extra confluence.

Features includes:
1.) Absolute Truth #. This setting will provide the candlesticks absolute truth # below the CS.
2.) Color bars based on Absolute Truth. This setting will color all inside candlesticks yellow, all Green Outside Candlesticks White and all Red Outside Candlesticks Fuchsia. Scenario 2 candlesticks are left as is and will color based on the color of the original candlestick. This setting is default enabled and needs to be disabled in the “Style” tab under the indicator settings wheel. I found this more practical in getting used to the 3 absolute truth scenarios.
3.) Reversals. This setting will mark when reversal patterns as discussed by Rob are posted. Noob version will also include the description of the reversal pattern, while the Pro version will only plot an ‘R’ without the text description. Note: There should never be back-to-back green Rs or red Rs. I found this issue a lot on many of the other ‘TheStrat’ scripts out there. TradingView development team note: The plotchar function does not allow dynamic text so this is the only reason on why there needs to be two separate versions of the script. ‘Pro’ is important for experienced users that already identify the patterns without the text and ‘Noob’ is important for beginner users that still need the text description of the pattern.
4. Continuations. This setting will mark when continuation patterns as discussed by Rob are posted. Noob version will also include the description of the continuation pattern, while the Pro version will only plot a ‘C’ without the text description.

Note the “Entry” and “Target” line were added manually and are not part of the script. This is one successful setup; don’t get excited thinking this is how it always works. I will let you discover and learn for yourself that there is many failed setups and many setups that never trigger the actionable signal. This is where setting alerts is very handy.
6. Alerts. Press on the “Create Alert” Icon for TradingView. When the prompt opens select the preferred script either “TheStrat Pro” or “TheStrat Noob” under “Condition” and then under the sub-menu select any of the following scenarios.

• R ▲/▼ = If the active CS shows a reversal up/down pattern, remember this CS is active and can still change direction and trigger a continuation in the previous trend direction.
• HM Trigger(Last High Cross) = Alert when the active CS breaks the high of the previous CS. As a new CS opens, it re-adjusts its values and is just constantly waiting for the active CS break through the previous CS high.

[LIB] Array / Matrix DisplayLibrary "ArrayMatrixHUD"
Show Array or Matrix Elements In Table
For Arrays: Set the number of rows you want the data displayed in and it will generate a table, calculating the columns based on the size of the array being displayed.
For Matrix: It will automatically match the Rows and Columns to the values in the matrix.
Note: On the left, the table shows the index of the array/matrix value starting at 1. So, to call that value from inside the array, subtract 1 from the index value to the left. For matrices, keep in mind that the row and column are also starting at one when trying to call a value from the matrix. The numbering of the values on the left is for display purposes only.
viewArray(_arrayName, _pos, _txtSize, _tRows)
Array Element Display (Supports float, int, string, and bool)
Parameters:
_arrayName : ID of Array to be Displayed
_pos : Position for Table
_txtSize : Size of Table Cell Text
_tRows : Number of Rows to Display Data In (columns will be calculated accordingly)
Returns: A Display of Array Values in a Table
viewMatrix(_matrixName, _pos, _txtSize)
Matrix Element Display (Supports float, int, string, and bool)
Parameters:
_matrixName : ID of Matrix to be Displayed
_pos : Position for Table
_txtSize : Size of Table Cell Text
Returns: A Display of Matrix Values in a Table
4C Inside/Outside BarThis indicator colors the candle body based on whether it closed as an Inside Bar (IB) or an Outside Bar (OB).
Inside and outside bars can be powerful triggers to enter or exit trades from, when price breaks above or below the candle.
The coloring of only the body and not the border of the candle makes it possible to still know whether the candle was bullish/bearish.
This indicator has the unique ability to add/hide labels for each IB and OB.
Small labels are printed on the chart directly below the candle. (See below)
It also has the unique ability to paint the chart background when an IB forms directly after an OB.
This is a special combination of the two, and can also be a powerful signal.
This feature can be turned on/off. (See below)

Tradingview ToolkitA new trader's biggest barrier to entry is lack of understanding where they are in terms of time and price and with tradingview free they are often limited to just 1 or 2 extra indicators as many new traders slap on RSI and MACD as 2/3 free ones. While these indicators are fine for trend analysis, its important to know where the price is in relation to time. Double Inside BarThis indicator provides a statistical report on the Double Inside Bar pattern. Based on the chart's bars, it can improve your edge on any markets and timeframes.
A Double Inside Bar refers to a contraction where price is consolidating while making consecutive lower highs and a higher lows.
The report is broken down into the different following sections: retracement , invalidation , continuation and breakout .
Each of them provides hindsights about the pattern price behavior and brings answers to questions such as: How often does price retrace? Does the pattern often invalidate? If it doesn't then does it break in the pattern's direction? How far does price go? What are the odds of a false breakout?
While there are many ways to make use of the metrics, my favorite use case is for developing directional and daily/weekly biases while refining my stop/entry/target positioning.

By changing the timeframe, inside bars can be looked under many timeframes like Monthly, Weekly, Dialy, Intraday, etc.
First label is for all of the symbols the indicator is scanning.
Second label is the result of the scan. Text is bigger than in this label than the first label to differentiate from the first label and for ease of use.

UDIO BarsUp-Down-Inside-Outside Bars
I prefer to see bars in a simpler fashion that is more logical.
An UP BAR is a bar when the market makes a high that is higher AND when the low is higher than the bar before.
A DOWN BAR is when the market makes a lower low AND a lower high.
The UP or DOWN BAR is not based on the close-to-close movement which is also called NET CHANGE for the bar AND it also disregards the open-close movement as well, which can be misleading more often than not.
This allows you to easily see periods of INDECISION when the bars are painted black because if the bar isn't RED or GREEN, it will be painted black.
INSIDE bars and OUTSIDE bars are INDECISION days.
INSIDE BARS: The market wants to wait for news or has exhausted itself on an INSIDE bar. The market makes neither a higher high or a lower low. Instead, the market trades in a tighter range inside the high and low of the bar before. Hence the name "inside bar".
OUTSIDE BARS: The market exhausts one side of the market after a new high or new low, then reverses and stops out anyone outside the range of the bar prior. Essentially, neither side of the market is strong on an OUTSIDE bar. Outside bars can cause sharp losses for trend traders and if you see many of them near each other, the market is preparing itself for a large move one way or the other.
UDIO = Up Down Inside Outside and I think it is a tool you all will want to use to make your charts tell a story and alert you to important price levels.
After a long trend of green and red bars, you may find that there are many black bars starting to appear and that can be a sign the trend is ending and is ready to reverse.
