Alex recently received the CMT Dow Award for his work to improve on the classic MACD indicator. The MACD-V tackles some obvious challenges with the classic MACD indicator, which is normally an unbounded indicator and inconsistent between different symbols and markets.
"Our goal is to improve an existing tool (MACD), so that - by eliminating its shortcomings - we will be creating a unique type of hybrid 'boundless oscillator', that opens the doors for several pattern recognition opportunities which would not be definable using the classic MACD."
When the oversold/overbought range of 150 and -150 was determined, Alex tested where 95% of the data fell within the bands using the S&P price history as reference. Users are encouraged to find ranges relevant to the securities/instruments they are analyzing.

This indicator is a normalized and scaled version of the Moving Average Convergence Divergence ( MACD ) indicator, inspired by the work in "Statistically Sound Indicators" by Timothy Masters. It enhances the traditional MACD by applying statistical normalization and scaling techniques, providing more consistent and reliable signals across different markets and timeframes.
█ CONCEPTS
The traditional MACD measures the difference between two Exponential Moving Averages ( EMAs ) of different lengths to identify momentum changes. However, its raw values are unbounded, making it challenging to compare across different instruments or timeframes.
This normalized MACD addresses this limitation by:
• Normalization : Adjusting the MACD values using the Average True Range ( ATR ) to account for market volatility.
• Scaling : Applying the Cumulative Distribution Function ( CDF ) to constrain the output between -50 and +50.
• Smoothing : Providing a smoothed signal line and histogram to effectively visualize momentum shifts.
█ FEATURES
• Normalized MACD Line : Computes the difference between the short-term and long-term EMAs, normalized by market volatility.
• Signal Line : Applies EMA smoothing to the normalized MACD line over a user-defined period.

This connectable MACD indicator is part of an indicator system designed to help test, visualize and build strategy configurations without coding. Like all connectable indicators , it interacts through the TradingView input source, which serves as a signal connector to link indicators to each other. All connectable indicators send signal weight to the next node in the system until it reaches either a connectable signal monitor, signal filter and/or strategy.
█ UNIFORM SETTINGS AND A WAY OF WORK
Although connectable indicators may have specific weight scoring conditions, they all aim to follow a standardized general approach to weight scoring settings, as outlined below.
■ Connectable indicators - Settings
• 🗲 Energy: Energy applies an ATR multiplier to the plotted shapes on the chart. A higher value plots shapes farther away from the candle, enhancing visibility.
• ☼ Brightness: Brightness determines the opacity of the shape plotted on the chart, aiding visibility. Indicator weight also influences opacity.
• → Input: Use the input setting to specify a data source for the indicator. Here you can connect the indicator to other indicators.

• ⥅ Weight multiplier: Multiply all weights in the entire indicator by a given factor, useful for quickly testing different indicators in a granular setup.

• S - Source: Choose an alternative data source for the MACD calculation.
• T - Timeframe: Select an alternative timeframe for the MACD calculation.
• FL - Fast Length: Define the number of bars or periods used in the MACD calculation for the fast length.
• SL - Fast Length: Define the number of bars or periods used in the MACD calculation for the slow length.
• SM - Smoothing: Smooths the averaged MACD over a specified period.
• C - Condition Define the smoothing amount
○ Above/Below zero: : Trigger when the MACD line is above or below zero

■ MACD Scoring functionality
• The MACD scores long entries when it crosses above its smoothed value and is below the zero line.
• The MACD scores long exits when it crosses below its smoothed value after a long entry.
• The MACD scores long zones the entire time the MACD line is above its smoothed value and below zero.
• The MACD scores short entries when it crosses below its smoothed value and is above the zero line.
• The MACD scores short exits when it crosses above its smoothed value after a short entry.
• The MACD scores short zones the entire time the MACD line is below its smoothed value and above zero.
█ PLOTTING
• Standard: Symbols (EL, XS, ES, XL) appear relative to candles based on set conditions. Their opacity and position vary with weight.
• Conditional Settings: A larger icon appears if global conditions are met. For instance, with a Threshold(⥇) of 12, Signal Period (SP) of 3, and Scoring Condition (SC) set to "EVERY", an MACD signaling over two times in 3 candles (scoring 6 each) triggers a larger icon.
█ USAGE OF CONNECTABLE INDICATORS
■ Connectable chaining mechanism
Connectable indicators can be connected directly to the signal monitor, signal filter or strategy , or they can be daisy chained to each other while the last indicator in the chain connects to the signal monitor, signal filter or strategy. When using a signal filter you can chain the filter to the strategy input to make your chain complete.
• Direct chaining: Connect an indicator directly to the signal monitor, signal filter or strategy through the provided inputs (→).
• Daisy chaining: Connect indicators using the indicator input (→). The first in a daisy chain should have a flow (⌥) set to 'Indicator only'. Subsequent indicators use 'Both' to pass the previous weight. The final indicator connects to the signal monitor, signal filter, or strategy.
■ Set up this indicator with a signal filter and strategy
The indicator provides visual cues based on signal conditions. However, its weight system is best utilized when paired with a connectable signal filter, monitor, or strategy .

2. Signal Filter: Connect the MACD to the Signal Filter
• Open the signal filter settings
• Choose one of the three input dropdowns (1→, 2→, 3→) and choose : MACD / Connectable: Signal Connector
• Toggle the enable box before the connected input to enable the incoming signal
3. Signal Filter: Update the filter signals settings if needed
• The default settings of the filter enable EL (Enter Long), XL (Exit Long), ES (Enter Short) and XS (Exit Short).
4. Signal Filter: Update the weight threshold settings if needed
• All connectable indicators load by default with a score of 6 for each direction (EL, XL, ES, XS)
• By default, weight threshold (TH) is set at 5. This allows each occurrence to score, as the default score in each connectable indicator is 1 point above the threshold. Adjust to your liking.
5. Strategy: Connect the strategy to the signal filter in the strategy settings
• Select a strategy input → and select the Signal filter: Signal connector
6. Strategy: Enable filter compatible directions
• Set the signal mode of the strategy to a compatible direction with the signal filter.
Now that everything is connected, you'll notice green spikes in the signal filter representing long signals, and red spikes indicating short signals. █ COMMON MISTAKES, CLARIFICATIONS AND TIPS
• Removing an indicator from a chain: Deleting a linked indicator and confirming the "remove study tree" alert will also remove all underlying indicators in the object tree. Before removing one, disconnect the adjacent indicators and move it to the object stack's bottom.
• Point systems: The azLibConnector provides 500 points for each direction (EL: Enter long, XL: Exit long, ES: Enter short, XS: Exit short) Remember this cap when devising a point structure.
• Flow misconfiguration: In daisy chains the first indicator should always have a flow (⌥) setting of 'indicator only' while other indicator should have a flow (⌥) setting of 'both'.
• Hide attributes: As connectable indicators send through quite some information you'll notice all the arguments are taking up some screenwidth and cause some visual clutter. You can disable arguments in Chart Settings / Status line.
• Layout and abbreviations: To maintain a consistent structure, we use abbreviations for each input. While this may initially seem complex, you'll quickly become familiar with them. Each abbreviation is also explained in the inline tooltips.
• Inputs: Connecting a connectable indicator directly to the strategy delivers the raw signal without a weight threshold, meaning every signal will trigger a trade.

MACD Trend Following Strategy How it work ?
Work like normal MACD because this is MACD without any modify but i add color of candlestick and strategy.

MACD Crossover with +/- FilterThis is to directly target when MACD crosses the Signal line. The purpose of this script is to target a +/- change of 3 in the MACD value after the most recent cross. It uses the value of the MACD line and holds it until a value of 3.00 + or - a crossover or crossunder happens. That's the significance of the red and green circles that appear on the chart. This is not financial advice, but I wanted to recreate what a friend of mine was doing manually and automate it for him.
The first circle that appears after MACD/SIGNAL lines cross would represent a potential trade idea. The circles after the first one match the intention of the first dot as they meet the condition of more than a value of -3 or +3 as the previous dot.
Inputs:
Standard Inputs as normal MACD (Moving Average Converging Divergence) within TradingView
Fast Length: User can change it to any value they want
Slow Length: User can change it to any value they want
Standard 12, 26, 9 as normal MACD // 9 being signal smoothing
Oscillator and Signal Line moving average type is using EMA's
Timeframe is dependent on user chart.
Circles are used for signaling the change in values. Red indicates a short-term bearish trend. Green indicates a short-term bullish trend.
Tested on lower timeframes:
1m, 3m, 5m, 15m, 60m
Not used as much on higher timeframes. Used for trading futures. This is what I use it for. It can be used for other futures than just NQ or ES, but those 2 are the ones that I've tested. Code it shown below for users to tinker with.
Style of indication symbol can be changed via settings within the indicator in the "Style" tab, as well as location of the symbol(s). Additionally, color can be changed as well, if you prefer different colors.

MACD TrueLevel StrategyThis strategy uses the MACD indicator to determine buy and sell signals. In addition, the strategy employs the use of "TrueLevel Bands," which are essentially envelope bands that are calculated based on the linear regression and standard deviation of the price data over various lengths.
The TrueLevel Bands are calculated for 14 different lengths and are plotted on the chart as lines. The bands are filled with a specified color to make them more visible. The highest upper band and lowest lower band values are stored in variables for easy access.
The user can input the lengths for the TrueLevel Bands and adjust the multiplier for the standard deviation. They can also select the bands they want to use for entry and exit, and enable long and short positions.
The entry conditions for a long position are either a crossover of the MACD line over the signal line or a crossover of the price over the selected entry lower band. The entry conditions for a short position are either a crossunder of the MACD line under the signal line or a crossunder of the price under the selected exit upper band.
The exit conditions for both long and short positions are not specified in the code and are left to the user to define.
Overall, the strategy aims to capture trends by entering long or short positions based on the MACD and TrueLevel Bands, and exiting those positions when the trend reverses.
MACD ModifiedIn an attempt to improve the MACD for trading, I have added an alternative way to calculate the MACD Line and Overbought/Oversold (OB/OS) lines to filter signals.
The alternate calculation I named "Modified" and put the option to select it under "MACD Calculation" in the input menu. Traditionally the MACD is calculated as fastEMA - slowEMA, for "Modified" I changed the calculation to ((fastEMA - slowEMA) / slowEMA * 100). The goal of this change is to view the difference in MA as a percent of the slow. The hope is that this will compensate for securities that have had major gains or losses in their history.
For the OB/OS lines, I coded in three different ways to calculate them. Users can select which method they prefer in the input menu. The first is through pivot points. The script records the pivot points into an array and takes the average of the array. There are two arrays, one for the OB line and one for the OS line. I also added filters so it will only record pivots above/below a specific value. The crosses on the indicator are for debugging purposes only. They mark the pivots that were recorded into the arrays. The crosses are offset by the pivot strength and do not provide timely indications. All inputs are adjustable for the pivots in the "Pivots" section of the input menu. The second method for the OB/OS lines I added is Bollinger Bands. The user can choose to put it around the Signal or MACD line. The final method added is simply using the previous high/low pivot of the MACD line.

- The center line of the EMA line corresponding to the MACD value and the signal value displayed in the MACD indicator is designed to receive the Close value or Open value among prices according to changes in the rise and fall.

- Buy when the 'Buy / Sell line' of the MACD-P indicator is level and the color is green, and when it crosses the 'Buy / Sell line' upwards.

This is the free version of the script. The following indicators / settings are missing:
- Support and resistance zones
- dynamic textboxes for alarms when using bots (3 Commas, Alertatron, etc.)
- a table showing the current position, indicators and other important information
With this script there is the possibility to completely customize the MACD . Starting with the MACD and signal line, the histogram and the color of the histogram.
Since the Pinecoders team has previously deleted the script, I will mention the fee settings in a bit more detail:
In this script a fee of 0.01% and a slipage of 15 was used. With each trade the total capital (100%) is used with a risk reward of 1 to 1.5.
The total capital, i.e. the risk, can be changed at any time under the "Settings" tab at "Equity".
I also added an EMA , the Know sure thing indicator and the Chopy Market indicator (by TradingRush) to the script to filter out bad trades.
The EMA:
Since the EMA is very reliable and shows whether there is an upward or downward trend, it should be used with the indicators in any case. It prevents long trades in downward movements and vice versa.
The KST Indicator:
The KST indicator has a similar movement as the MACD, but is by and large a bit more time delayed. It filters out false swings of the MACD and thus prevents bad trades.
The Chopy Market Indicator by Tradingrush:
The Chopy Market indicator, which was introduced by TradingRush in one of its videos, has the ability to detect sideways markets and block zones below this line for trades by means of a fixed value (the line).
To exit the trades, I added the following options:
ATR Exits. Exits based on past candles (lowest low, highest high).
Static exits based on set percentages.

MACD BandsThis is MACD indicator on the price chart. You can read the same information as the original MACD but much more.
You can use it the same way as MACD but it won't use any space below your chart. Also you can use signal line and cloud as trend confirmation: e.g. if above them it can be a stronger uptrend.
The signal line (yellow by default) can be used as a support-resistance line.
If teal line is above maroon line, MACD is positive, otherwise it is negative
MACD value is the width of the cloud
Cloud color is green when MACD histogram is positive, red if negative
You can change MA types

MACD 50x Leveraged Strategy Real Equity Simulation Hello, I wrote this script to merge the two scripts I shared before.
The aim here is to see the real value of the state of the capital as a result of leveraged transactions and to combine both long and short directions.

The parameters have not changed so they are the same as the previous two scripts:
Adding margin: Forbidden or not specified. (Add Margin : No)
Position Size : %1 (0.01) (For each trade)
Stop-Loss : %2 (For each trade)
Long : Crossover(delta,0) (Standard MACD)
Long Exit : Long Stop Level or Short Entry
(In the case of Long Stop, all trades are closed and no positions are opened in short direction.)
Short : Crossunder(delta,0) (Standard MACD)
Short Exit : Short Stop or Long Entry
(In the case of Short Stop, all trades are closed and no positions are opened in the long direction.)
NOTE :
This is a simulation made using standard parameters, showing the state of the balance in very simple rules with leveraged transactions only.
The nice thing here is the direct observation of the results by making modifications on the strategy parameters.

I use it for chart analysis to identify key macd /signal levels from which bullish / bearish market structure continues to develop.
Chart means that every Macd /Signal cross above/below the signal lines will be notified on your Chart and not on your MACD Indicator. To see them on your chart please choose "MACD with Lines - Default" in my library.
Once Signal, Macd or the Histogramm cross over or under your upper or lower signal line you will see background colors which you can adjust in the settings menu.
This small indicator is for a larger project which will be uploaded in several days/weeks.

MA Filter : Price Close Above MA, Search for Buy, Price Close Below MA, Search for Sell
ADX Filter : Take trade only when ADX is above certain treshold
MACD Signal : MACD Cross above signal line while under 0 line indicate Buy Signal

SL Type -->
ATR : Set SL in ATR times Multiplier below/above entry price
Fixed : Set SL in fixed point below entry point (in 'Dollar'). e.g. for Stocks -> 0.5 equals to 50cent while for EURUSD currency -> 0.005 equal to 50 pips
HiLo Bar : Set SL at highest/lowest wick of previous bar plus/minus Fixed point. e.g. EURUSD HiLo=3 and Fixed Point = 0.0005, buy trade will place SL 5 Pips below lowest of previous 3 bar
SL ATR Period --> Set Lookback Period used for SL's ATR calculation
SL ATR Multi --> Set ATR Multiplier for SL
SL Fixed --> Set Fixed Level for SL (Use when SL Type is either Fixed or HiLo Bar)
SL Bar --> Set Number of previous bar to check for SL placement
TP RR Ratio --> Set TP based on RR multiplier. e.g. 2 means TP level will be twice further from entry point compared to Entry-SL distance.
Notes: The point is for preliminary testing, so it only supports 1 trade at a time and no Trailing Stop

This script main objective is to create my personal indicator template so that i just have to modify the indicator module for preliminary testing in future.

i believe using Strategy function is a better approach for this but the entry/exit level seems to be hit n miss (at least for me, still trying to figure what i did wrong)
also, i rather code the strategy in other platform where i can use the more accurate tick data if i want to validate backtest statistics.
My study scripts was built only to test/visualize an idea to see its viability and if it can be used to optimize existing strategy.
