Judas Swing is an advanced trading setup designed to identify false price movements early in the trading day. This advanced trading strategy operates on the principle that major market players, or "smart money," drive price in a certain direction during the early hours to mislead smaller traders.
This deceptive movement attracts liquidity at specific levels, allowing larger players to execute primary trades in the opposite direction, ultimately causing the price to return to its true path.
The Judas Swing setup functions within two primary time frames, tailored separately for Forex and Stock markets. In the Forex market, the setup uses the 8:15 to 8:30 AM window to identify the high and low points, followed by the 8:30 to 8:45 AM frame to execute the Judas move and identify the CISD Level break, where Order Block and Fair Value Gap (FVG) zones are subsequently detected.
In the Stock market, these time frames shift to 9:15 to 9:30 AM for identifying highs and lows and 9:30 to 9:45 AM for executing the Judas move and CISD Level break.
Concepts such as Order Block and Fair Value Gap (FVG) are crucial in this setup. An Order Block represents a chart region with a high volume of buy or sell orders placed by major financial institutions, marking significant levels where price reacts.
Fair Value Gap (FVG) refers to areas where price has moved rapidly without balance between supply and demand, highlighting zones of potential price action and future liquidity.

🔵 How to Use
The Judas Swing setup enables traders to pinpoint entry and exit points by utilizing Order Block and FVG concepts, helping them align with liquidity-driven moves orchestrated by smart money. This setup applies two distinct time frames for Forex and Stocks to capture early deceptive movements, offering traders optimized entry or exit moments.
🟣 Bullish Setup
In the Bullish Judas Swing setup, the first step is to identify High and Low points within the initial time frame. These levels serve as key points where price may react, forming the basis for analyzing the setup and assisting traders in anticipating future market shifts.
In the second time frame, a critical stage of the bullish setup begins. During this phase, the price may create a false break or Fake Break below the low level, a deceptive move by major players to absorb liquidity. This false move often causes smaller traders to enter positions incorrectly. After this fake-out, the price reverses upward, breaking the CISD Level, a critical point in the market structure, signaling a potential bullish trend.
Upon breaking the CISD Level and reversing upward, the indicator identifies both the Order Block and Fair Value Gap (FVG). The Order Block is an area where major players typically place large buy orders, signaling potential price support. Meanwhile, the FVG marks a region of supply-demand imbalance, signaling areas where price might react.
Ultimately, after these key zones are identified, a trader may open a buy position if the price reaches one of these critical areas—Order Block or FVG—and reacts positively. Trading at these levels enhances the chance of success due to liquidity absorption and support from smart money, marking an opportune time for entering a long position.
🟣 Bearish Setup
In the Bearish Judas Swing setup, analysis begins with marking the High and Low levels in the initial time frame. These levels serve as key zones where price could react, helping to signal possible trend reversals. Identifying these levels is essential for locating significant bearish zones and positioning traders to capitalize on downward movements.
In the second time frame, the primary bearish setup unfolds. During this stage, price may exhibit a Fake Break above the high, causing a brief move upward and misleading smaller traders into incorrect positions. After this false move, the price typically returns downward, breaking the CISD Level—a crucial bearish trend indicator.
With the CISD Level broken and a bearish trend confirmed, the indicator identifies the Order Block and Fair Value Gap (FVG). The Bearish Order Block is a region where smart money places significant sell orders, prompting a negative price reaction. The FVG denotes an area of supply-demand imbalance, signifying potential selling pressure.
When the price reaches one of these critical areas—the Bearish Order Block or FVG—and reacts downward, a trader may initiate a sell position. Entering trades at these levels, due to increased selling pressure and liquidity absorption, offers traders an advantage in profiting from price declines.
🔵 Settings
Market : The indicator allows users to choose between Forex and Stocks, automatically adjusting the time frames for the "Opening Range" and "Trading Permit" accordingly: Forex: 8:15–8:30 AM for identifying High and Low points, and 8:30–8:45 AM for capturing the Judas move and CISD Level break. Stocks: 9:15–9:30 AM for identifying High and Low points, and 9:30–9:45 AM for executing the Judas move and CISD Level break.
Refine Order Block : Enables finer adjustments to Order Block levels for more accurate price responses.
Mitigation Level OB : Allows users to set specific reaction points within an Order Block, including: Proximal: Closest level to the current price. 50% OB: Midpoint of the Order Block. Distal: Farthest level from the current price.
FVG Filter : The Judas Swing indicator includes a filter for Fair Value Gap (FVG), allowing different filtering based on FVG width: FVG Filter Type: Can be set to "Very Aggressive," "Aggressive," "Defensive," or "Very Defensive." Higher defensiveness narrows the FVG width, focusing on narrower gaps.
Mitigation Level FVG : Like the Order Block, you can set price reaction levels for FVG with options such as Proximal, 50% OB, and Distal.
CISD : The Bar Back Check option enables traders to specify the number of past candles checked for identifying the CISD Level, enhancing CISD Level accuracy on the chart.

Volume Analysis - Heatmap and Volume ProfileHello All!
I have a new toy for you! Volume Analysis - Heatmap and Volume Profile . Honestly I started to work to develop Volume Heatmap then I decided to improve it and add more features such Volume profile, volume, difference in Buy/Sell volumes etc. I tried to put my abilities into this script and tried to use some new Pine Language™ features ( method, force_overlay, enum etc features ). I hope the usage of these new features would be an example for Pine Programmers.
Lets talk about how it works:
- It gets number of Rows/Columns from the user for each candle to create heatmap
- It calculates the number of the candles to analyze. Number of the candles may change by number of Rows/columns or if any volume / difference in volumes / volume profile is enabled
- It gets Closing/Opening price, Volume and Time info from lower time frame for each candle ( it can be up to 100K for each candle )
- After getting the data it calculates lower time frame to analyze
- Then it calculates how closing price moves, how much volume on each move and create boxes by the volume/move in each box
- The colors for each box calculated by volume info and closing price movements in the lower time frame
- It shows the boxes on Absolute places or Zero Line optionally
- it shows Volume, Cumulative volume, Difference between Buy/Sell volume for each column
- it changes empty box color by Chart background color, also you can change transparency
- At this time it creates Volume Profile with up to 25 rows
- As a new Pine Language™ feature, it can show Volume Profile in the indicator window or in Main chart, shows Value Area, Value Area High (VAH), Value Area Low (VAL), and draw it and POC (Point Of Control) in the indicator window and/or in the main chart
- Honestly the feature I like is that: For the markets that are not open 24/7, it combines the data from the lower time period without any gaps. For example, if you work for a market that is closed on Saturdays and Sundays, it ensures data integrity by omitting weekends and holidays. so for example if the data is like "ABC---DEF-X---YL-Z" then it makes this data like "ABCDEFXYLZ". In this way, there will be no data breaks in the displayed boxes, there will be no empty colons, and it will appear as if data is coming in at any time.
- Finally it shows Info Panel to give info, its background color automatically changes by the Chart background color
- Important! You should set your "Plan" accordingly, your plan is "Premium or Higher" or "Lower tier". so the script can understand the minimum time frame it can get data!!

DP-OCR MTF & MA 2024This script developed is designed for multi-timeframe analysis of previous open, close, and range, with additional signal plots based on various percentage extension levels. It also incorporates EMA calculations for crossover strategies. Here's a quick breakdown of what the script does:

o Two separate timeframes (TF1 and TF2), which can be set by the user (e.g., 15 mins, 30 mins, daily, etc.). The script computes price actions and extensions for both timeframes. For better analysis, use Daily in TF1 and Weekly in TF2

5. EMA Calculations:
o The script calculates 5, 15, and 20 period EMAs and plots them on the chart.
o Additional EMA crossover signals can be included for strategy optimization.
How to Use:
• Observe the EMAs for potential crossover signals. For example, a 5-period EMA crossing above a 15-period or 20-period EMA may signal a buy opportunity, while a crossover in the opposite direction may signal a sell.
• Combine the EMA crossovers with extension levels or previous price data to refine your entries and exits.
Customizations Available:
• Users can select whether to display extension levels for either timeframe.

Close-to-Close Volatility - Estimates volatility using the logarithmic difference between consecutive closing prices. Specifically applicable to data sources without open, high, and low prices.
Open-to-Close Volatility - (Overnight Volatility): Estimates volatility based on the logarithmic difference between the opening price and the last closing price emphasizing overnight gaps.
Hilo Volatility - Estimates volatility using a method similar to Parkinson's method, which considers the logarithm of the high and low prices.

Concretum BandsDefinition
The Concretum Bands indicator recreates the Upper and Lower Bound of the Noise Area described in the paper "Beat the Market: An Effective Intraday Momentum Strategy for S&P500 ETF (SPY)" published by Concretum founder Zarattini, along with Barbon and Aziz, in May 2024.
Below we provide all the information required to understand how the indicator is calculated, the rationale behind it and how people can use it.
Idea Behind
The indicator aims to outline an intraday price region where the stock is expected to move without indicating any demand/supply imbalance. When the price crosses the boundaries of the Noise Area, it suggests a significant imbalance that may trigger an intraday trend.
How the Indicator is Calculated
The bands at time HH:MM are computed by taking the open price of day t and then adding/subtracting the average absolute move over the last n days from market open to minute HH:MM . The bands are also adjusted to account for overnight gaps. A volatility multiplier can be used to increase/decrease the width of the bands, similar to other well-known technical bands. The bands described in the paper were computed using a lookback period (length) of 14 days and a Volatility Multiplier of 1. Users can easily adjust these settings.
How to use the indicator
A trader may use this indicator to identify intraday moves that exceed the average move over the most recent period. A break outside the bands could be used as a signal of significant demand/supply imbalance.
Volatility Estimator - YZ & RSThe Yang-Zheng Volatility Estimator (YZVE) integrates both intra-candle and inter-candle dynamics, such as overnight and weekend price changes, offering a more detailed analysis compared to traditional methods. The YZVE is proposed to improve over the standard deviation by accounting for the open, high, low, and close prices of trading periods, instead of only the close prices, and attempts to supplant the Parkinson's Volatility Estimator (PVE) by a also capturing inter-candle dynamics. The YZVE is calculated by this formula:
YZ Volatility Squared σ_YZ² = k * σ_o² + σ_rs² + (1 - k) * σ_c²
where k is a weighting factor that adjusts the emphasis between the overnight and close-to-close components, popularly estimated as:
k = 0.34 / (1.34 + (N+1) / (N-1))
where N is the lookback period. Optionally, users may opt to override this calculation with a specified constant (off by default). Next, the
Overnight Volatility Squared σ_o² = (log(O_t / C_(t-1)))²
measures the volatility associated with overnight price changes, from the previous candle's closing price C_(t-1) to the current candle's opening price O_t. It captures the market's reaction to news and events that occur outside of regular trading hours to reflect risk associated with holding positions over non-trading hours and gaps.
Next, the The Rogers-Satchell Volatility Estimator (RSVE) serves as an intermediary step in the computation of YZVE. It aggregates the logarithmic ratios between high, low, open, and close prices within each trading period, focusing on intra-candle volatility without assuming zero inter-candle drift as commonly implicitly assumed in other volatility models:
Rogers-Satchell Volatility Squared σ_rs² = (log(H_t / C_t) * log(H_t / O_t)) + (log(L_t / C_t) * log(L_t / O_t))
Finally,
Close-to-Close Volatility Squared σ_c² = (log(C_t / C_(t-1)))²
measures the volatility from the close of one candle to the close of the next. It reflects the typical candle volatility, similar to naive standard deviation.
This script also includes an option for users to apply the simpler RS Volatility exclusively, focusing on intraday price movements. Additionally, it offers a choice for normalization between 0 and 1, turning the estimator into an oscillator for comparing current volatility to recent levels. Horizontal lines at user-defined levels are also available for clearer visualization. Both are off by default.

Our 'Volume Delta Trailing Stop' script can show potential entries/Stop Loss lines
A trigger line needs to be broken before a position is taken, after which a Volume Delta-controlled Trailing Stop-line is created:
🔶 DETAILS
🔹 Volume rises when bought or sold
🔹 When the opening price appears on the chart, a buy/sell order has been executed.
If that order is less than the available supply of that particular price, volume will rise, without moving the price.
🔹 When the opening price is the same as the closing price, the volume of that bar can be seen as "neutral volume" (nV); nor "up", nor "down" volume.
Example
A buy order doesn't fill the first available supply in the order book. This price will be the opening price with a certain volume.
When at closing time, price still hasn't moved (the first available supply in the order book isn't filled, or no movement downwards),
the closing price will be equal to the opening price, but with volume. This can be seen as "neutral volume (nV)".
🔹 Delta Volume (ΔV): this is "up volume" minus "down volume"
🔹 Standard volume is colored red when closing price is lower than opening price ( = "down volume").
🔹 Standard volume is colored green when closing price is higher OR equal (nV) than opening price ( = "up volume").
🔹 Neutral Volume
The "Neutral-Volume" is considered "Up-Volume" - setting will dictate whether nV is considered as green 'buy' volume or not.

close > open, so the volume (39.55) is colored green ("up volume").

Here we see several bars that haven't moved in price, but they have volume ("neutral" volume).

When we count all green and red volume bars, the result is quite different:

In total more volume is found when price went downwards, yet price went up in these 5 minutes.

• orange: when price went up, but LTF Volume was mainly in a downward direction.
• blue: when price went down, but LTF Volume was mainly in an upwards direction.
When we split the green "up volume" into "up" and "neutral", the difference is even higher

🔹 Potential positioning - forming of Trigger-line
When not in position, the script will wait for a divergence between price and volume direction. When found, a Trigger-line will appear:
• at high when a blue bar appears ( bullishBear ).
• at low when an orange bar appears ( bearishBull ).
Next step is when the Trigger-line is broken by close or high/low (settings: Trigger )

🔹 Trailing Stop-line
When the Trigger-line is broken, the Trailing Stop-line (TS-line) will start:
• low when bullish position
• high when bearish position
You can choose (settings -> Trigger -> Close or H/L ) whether close price or high/low should break the Trigger-line
When alerts are enabled ("Any alert() function call"), you'll get the following message:
• ' signal up ' when bullish position
• ' signal down' when bearish position
After that, the TS-line will be adjusted when:
• a blue bullishBear bar appears when in bullish position -> lowest of {low , previous blue bar's high or orange bar's low}
• an orange bearishBull bar appears when in bearish position -> highest of {high, previous blue bar's high or orange bar's low}
When alerts are enabled ("Any alert() function call"), and the TS-line is broken, you'll get the following message:

🔹 Reference Point
Default the direction of price will be evaluated by comparing closing price with opening price.
When open and close are the same, you'll get "neutral volume".
You can use "previous close" instead (as in built-in volume indicator) to include gaps.
If close equals open , but close is lower than previous close , it will be regarded as " down volume ",
similar, when close is higher than previous close , it will be regarded as " up volume "
Note, the setting applies for the current timeframe AND Lower timeframe:
Based on: " open " (close - open)
Based on: " previous close " (close - previous close)

When the TS-line changes, this can be adjusted with a percentage of price , or a multiple of " True Range "

1. When chart resolution is Daily or Intraday (D, 4H, 1H, 5min, etc), Relative Volume shows value based on DAILY. RVol is measured on daily basis to compare past N number of days.
2. When resolution is changed to Weekly or Monthly, then Relative Volume shows corresponding value. i.e. Weekly shows weekly relative volume of this week compared to past 'N' weeks. Likewise for Monthly. You would see change in label name. Like, Weekly chart shows W_RVol (Weekly Relative Volume). Likewise, Daily & Intraday shows D_RVol. Monthly shows M_RVol (Monthly Relative Volume).
3. Added a plot (by default hidden) for this specific reason: When you move the cursor to focus specific candle, then Indicator Value displays relative volume of that specific candle. This applies to Intraday as well. So if you're in 1HR chart and move the cursor to a specific candle, Indicator Value shows relative volume for that specific candlestick bar.
4. Updating the script so that text size and location can be customized.

How to Use Relative Volume for Trading
Using Relative Volume (RVol) in trading can be a valuable tool to help you identify potential trading opportunities and gain insight into market behavior. Here are some ways to use RVol in your trading strategy:
Identifying High-Volume Breakouts: RVol can help you spot potential breakouts when the volume surges significantly above its average. High RVol during a breakout suggests strong market interest, increasing the probability of a sustained move in the direction of the breakout.
Confirming Trends and Reversals: RVol can act as a confirmation tool for trends and reversals. A trend accompanied by rising RVol indicates a strong and sustainable move. Conversely, a trend with declining RVol might suggest a weakening trend or potential reversal.
Spotting Volume Divergence: When the price is moving in one direction, but RVol is declining or not confirming the move, it may indicate a divergence. This discrepancy could suggest a potential reversal or trend change.

Using Relative Volume in Morning Session
If the Volume traded in first 15 minute to 30 Minutes is already at 50% or 100% depending upon the ticker, it means that it is going to have very high Volume vs average by end of the day.
This gives me conviction for Long or Short Trades
Remember that RVol is not a standalone indicator; it works best when used in conjunction with other technical and fundamental analysis tools. Additionally, RVol's effectiveness may vary across different markets and trading strategies. Therefore, backtesting and validating the use of RVol in your trading approach is essential.
Lastly, risk management is crucial in trading. While RVol can provide valuable insights, it cannot guarantee profitable trades. Always use appropriate risk management strategies, such as setting stop-loss levels, and avoid overexposing yourself to the market based solely on RVol readings.
Simple RangeThe daily price range is a good proxy to judge an instrument’s volatility. I have combined multiple concepts in this indicator to display information regarding the daily price range & its volatility.
A trading period's range is simply the difference between its high and the low. This script shows the daily high-to-low range of the price as a column chart. It has 3 main components:
1. Narrow-range days (NR7) & Wide-range Days (WR20) - as plot columns

Narrow range days mark price contractions that often precede price expansions. This script uses NR7 (narrow range 7) as a narrow-range day. This value can be changed by the user if, instead of an NR7, he or she wishes to use NR4 or NR21, or any other interval of his or her choice. NR7 is an indecisive trading day in which the range is narrower than any of the previous six days (a total of 7 days). This is a popular concept given by Thomas Bulkowski. A breakout is said to occur when price closes above the top or below the bottom of the NR7. Upside breakout of an NR 7 candle with high volumes indicates bullishness.
Similarly, highs & lows of wide-range bars (on big volumes) are also significant reference levels for price. Wide-range candle are identified by size of the body candle (open - close). The script compares the size of previous 20 candles to identify WR20 candles. This value can also be changed by the user.
The script shows NR7 & WR20 as orange & blue bars, respectively.
The user can also turn on the option to identify a big high-to-low range candle greater than a pre-defined threshold (default is 5%). These show up as green or red bars.
2. TTM Squeeze - as background
Original concept from John Carter's book "Mastering the Trade"
Based on "Squeeze Momentum Indicator" script by LazyBear
John Carter’s TTM Squeeze indicator looks at the relationship between Bollinger Bands and Keltner's Channels to help identify period of volatility contractions. Bollinger Bands being completely enclosed within the Keltner Channels is indicative of a very low volatility. This is a state of volatility contraction known as squeeze. Using different ATR lengths (1.0, 1.5 and 2.0) for Keltner Channels, we can differentiate between levels of squeeze (High, Mid & Low compression, respectively). Greater the compression, higher the potential for explosive moves.
In the script, the High, Mid & Low compression squeezes are depicted via the background color being red, orange, or yellow, respectively.
3. Average Daily Range - as table

Modified from "ADR% - Average Daily Range % by MikeC" script by TheScrutiniser
Average Day Range (ADR) tells how much the price moves between the high and low on a given day. This is the day Range, which is then averaged to create ADR. The script uses an average of the last 20 days to calculate the ADR. Unlike ATR (Average True Range), this excludes Gaps.
The script displays the ADR as a % value in a table.
If you want to find stocks that move a lot on an average on most days, then look for stocks that have ADR% of 5% or more.
If you prefer lower volatility stocks, focus on stocks with lower ADR% values, such as 2% or less.
How it comes together
For a bullish "momentum burst", or a velocity trade:
Select stocks with Average Day Range % (ADR) greater than 5
Identify significant reference price levels via highs & lows of WR20 bars (on big volumes)
Wait for a decent mid-to-high compression squeeze
Look for clusters of NR7 candles in the consolidation
Any breakout from this consolidation should be accompanied by more than average (preferably pocket pivot) volumes
MA Cross ScreenerThis script lets you pick 20 symbols to check for ma crosses. The way it works is it scans all 20 of your symbols for moving average crosses and then it sends an both a regular alert and a visual alert inside of the indicator. I found that ma cross strategies are very popular right now so I thought it would be nice to have one indicator instead of 20 discord servers. The features include: 20 custom symbols, alerts, custom colors, ma select, and custom time frames. If you want to use the custom time frame option, use the lowest time frame possible. That way you wont have gaps. If you have any comments please voice them, that includes suggestions!

Correlation with Matrix TableCorrelation coefficient is a measure of the strength of the relationship between two values. It can be useful for market analysis, cryptocurrencies, forex and much more.
Since it "describes the degree to which two series tend to deviate from their moving average values" (1), first of all you have to set the length of these moving averages. You can also retrieve the values from another timeframe, and choose whether or not to ignore the gaps.
After selecting the reference ticker, which is not dependent from the chart you are on, you can choose up to eight other tickers to relate to it. The provided matrix table will then give you a deeper insight through all of the correlations between the chosen symbols.
Correlation values are scored on a scale from 1 to -1
A value of 1 means the correlation between the values is perfect.
A value of 0 means that there is no correlation at all.
A value of -1 indicates that the correlation is perfectly opposite.
For a better view at a glance, eight level colors are available and it is possible to modify them at will. You can even change level ranges by setting their threshold values. The background color of the matrix's cells will change accordingly to all of these choices.
The default threshold values, commonly used in statistics, are as follows:
None to weak correlation: 0 - 0.3
Weak to moderate correlation: 0.3 - 0.5
Moderate to high correlation: 0.5 - 0.7
High to perfect correlation: 0.7 - 1
Remember to be careful about spurious correlations, which are strong correlations without a real causal relationship.

ICT Fair Value Gap [LM]Hello traders,

TSI with histogram and MA - SamXThis is an enhanced TSI. The others I've found on here have generally lacked sufficient settings context and/or alert definitions, so I made this version to address those gaps. In addition to that, I also added a way to plot a user-customizable moving average line of the TSI to better help identify trending conditions across TSI swings.
Alert(), alertcondition() or strategy alerts?Variety of possibilities offered by PineScript, especially thanks to recent additions, created some confusion. Especially one question repeats quite often - which method to use to trigger alerts?
I'm posting this to clarify and give some syntax examples. I'll discuss these 3 methods in chronological order, meaning - in the order they were introduced to PineScript.
ALERTCONDITION() - it is a function call, which can be used only in study-type script. Since years ago, you could create 2 types of a script: strategy and study. First one enables creating a backtest of a strategy. Second was to develop scripts which didn't require backtesting and could trigger alerts. alertcondition() calls in strategy-type scripts were rejected by Pine compiler. On the other hand compiling study-type scripts rejected all strategy...() calls. That created difficulties, because once you had a nice and backtested strategy, you had to rip it off from all strategy...() function calls to convert your script to study-type so you could produce alerts. Maintenance of two versions of each script was necessary and it was painful.
"STRATEGY ALERTS" were introduced because of alertcondition() pains. To create strategy alert, you need to click "Add alert" button inside Strategy Tester (backtester) and only there. Alerts set-up this way are bound with the backtester - whenever backtester triggers an order, which is visible on the chart, alert is also fired. And you can customize alert message using some placeholders like {{strategy.order.contracts}} or {{ticker}}.
ALERT() was added last. This is an alerts-triggering function call, which can be run from strategy-type script. Finally it is doable! You can connect it to any event coded in PineScript and generate any alert message you want, thanks to concatenation of strings and wrapping variables into tostring() function.
Out of these three alertcondition() is obviously archaic and probably will be discontinued. There is a chance this makes strategy/study distinction not making sense anymore, so I wouldn't be surprised if "studies" are deprecated at some point.
But what are the differences between "Strategy alerts" and alert()? "Strategy alerts" seem easier to set-up with just a few clicks and probably easier to understand and verify, because they go in sync with the backtester and on-chart trade markers. It is especially important to understand how they work if you're building strategy based on pending orders (stop and limit) - events in your code might trigger placing pending order, but alert will be triggered only (and when) such order is executed.
But "Strategy Alerts" have some limitations - not every variable you'd like to include in alert message is available from PineScript. And maybe you don't need the alert fired when the trade hit a stop-loss or take-profit, because you have already forwarded info about closing conditions in entry alert to your broker/exchange.
Alert() was added to PineScript to fill all these gaps. Is allows concatenating any alert message you want, with any variable you want inside it and you can attach alert() function at any event in your PineScript code. For example - when placing orders, crossing variables, exiting trades, but not explicitly at pending orders execution.
The Verdict
"Strategy Alerts" might seem a better fit - easier to set-up and verify, flexible and they fire only when a trade really happens, not producing unnecessary mess when each pending order is placed. But these advantages are illusionary, because they don't give you the full-control which is needed when trading with real money. Especially when using pending orders. If an alert is fired when price actually hit a stop-order or limit-order level, and even if you are executing such alert within 1 second thanks to a tool like TradingConnector, you might already be late and you are making entry at a market price. Slippage will play a great role here. You need to send ordering alert when logical conditions are met - then it will be executed at the price you want. Even if you need to cancel all the pending orders which were not executed. Because of that I strongly recommend sticking to ALERT() when building your alerts system.
Below is an example strategy, showing syntax to manage placing the orders and cancelling them. Yes, this is another spin-off from my TradingView Alerts to MT4 MT5 . As usual, please don't pay attention to backtest results, as this is educational script only.

Volatility GuppyBased on my previous script "Turtle N Normalized," this script plots the CM SuperGuppy on the value of N to identify changing trends in the volatility of any instrument.
Turtle rules taken from an online PDF:
"The Turtles used a concept that Richard Dennis and Bill Eckhardt called N to represent the underlying volatility of a particular market.
N is simply the 20-day exponential moving average of the True Range, which is now more commonly known as the ATR. Conceptually, N represents the average range in price movement that a particular market makes in a single day, accounting for opening gaps. N was measured in the same points as the underlying contract.
The Turtles built positions in pieces which we called Units. Units were sized so that 1 N represented 1% of the account equity. Thus, a unit for a given market or commodity can be calculated using the following formula:
Unit = 1% of Account/(N x Dollars per Point)"
To normalize the Unit formula, this script instead takes the value of (close/N). Dollars per point = 1 for stocks and crypto, but will change depending on the contract specifications for individual futures .
"Since the Turtles used the Unit as the base measure for position size, and since those units were volatility risk adjusted, the Unit was a measure of both the risk of a position, and of the entire portfolio of positions."
When the EMA's are green, volatility is decreasing.
When the EMA's are red, volatility is increasing.
When the EMA's are grey, the trend is changing.
Turtle N NormalizedSimple script that calculates the normalized value of N. Rules taken from an online PDF containing the original Turtle system:

When the value of N is high, volatility is low and you should be more risk-on.

True Accumulation/DistributionAccumulation/Distribution is developed by Marc Chaikin to provide insight into strength of a trend by measuring flow of buy and sell volume.
The fact that A/D only factors current period's range for calculating the volume multiplier causes problem with price gaps. They are ignored or even misinterpreted.
True Accumulation/Distribution solves the problem by using True Range instead of only relying on current period's high and low.
In this example you can see when a gap has occurred in Amazon Inc.'s daily chart True A/D has handled it better than Accumulation/Distribution which a bearish close in period's range has caused it to misinterpret the strong buy pressure as sell volume.
Grover Llorens Activator Strategy AnalysisThe Grover Llorens Activator is a trailing stop indicator deeply inspired by the parabolic SAR indicator, and aim to provide early exit points and reversal detection. The indicator was posted not so long ago, you can find it here :
Today a strategy using the indicator is proposed, and its profitability is analyzed on 3 different markets with the main time frame being 1 hour, remember that lower time frames involve lower absolute price changes, therefore we are way more affected by the spread, and we can require a larger position sizing depending on our investment target, trading higher time-frames is always a good practice and this is why 1 hour is selected. Based on the result we might make various conclusions regarding the indicator accuracy and might have ideas on future improvements of the indicator.
I'am not great when it comes to strategy design, i still hope to share correct and useful information in this post, let me know your thoughts on the post format and if i should make more of these.
Setup And Rules
The analysis is solely based on the indicator signals, money management isn't taken into account, this allow us to have an idea on the indicator robustness and resilience, particularly on extremely volatile markets and ones exhibiting a chaotic structure, altho it is normally good practice to close any position before a market closure in order to avoid any potential major gaps.
The settings used are 480 for length and 14 for mult, this create relatively mid term signals that are suited for a trend indicator such as the Grover Llorens Activator, unfortunately we can't infer the indicator optimal settings, thats how it is with any technical indicator anyway.
Here are the rules of our strategy :
long : closing price cross over the indicator
short : closing price cross under the indicator
We use constant position sizing, once a signal is triggered all the previous positions are closed.
Description Of The Statistics Used
Various statistics are presented in this post, here is a brief description of the main ones :
Percent Profitability (higher = better): Percentage of winning trades, that is : winning trades/total number of trades × 100
Maximum Drawdown (lower = better) : The highest difference between a peak and a valley in the balance, that is : peak - valley , in percentage : (peak - valley)/peak × 100
Profit Factor (higher = better) : Gross profit divided by gross loss, values under 1 represent gross losses superior to the gross profits
Remember that more volatility = more risk, since higher absolute price changes can logically cause larger losses.
EURUSD
The first market analyzed is the Forex market with the EURUSD major pair with a position sizing of 1000 units (1 micro lot). Since October EURUSD is not showing any particular strong trend but posses a discrete rising motion, fortunately cycles can be observed.
The equity was rising until two trades appeared causing a decline in the equity. Before October a bearish market could be observed.
We can see that the equity is rising, the trend still posses various retracements that affect our indicator, however we can see that the indicator totally nail the end of the trend, thats the power of converging toward the price.
In short :
$ 86.63 net profit
340 closed trades
37.65 % profitable (thats a lot of loosing trades)
1.19 profit factor
$ 76.67 max drawdown
Applying a spread would create negative results (in general the average spread is used), not a great start...
BTCUSD
The cryptocurrency market is relatively more volatile than others, which also mean potentially higher returns, we test the indicator using certainly the most traded cryptocurrency, BTCUSD. We will use a position sizing of 1 unit.
In the case of BTCUSD the strategy balance is relatively stationary around the initial capital, with of course high dispersion.
from september to december the market is bearish with various ranging periods, no apparent cycles can be observed, except maybe in the ranging period of october, this ranging period is followed by a non linear trend (relatively parabolic) that the indicator failed to capture in its integrity (this is a recurrent problem and it is starting to piss me off xD).
In short :
$ 2010.64 net profit (aka how i bet the crypto market)
395 closed trades
38.23 % profitable
1.036 profit factor
$ 5738.01 max drawdown (aka how i lost to the crypto market)
AMD
AMD stand for Advanced Micro Devices and is a company focused on the development of computer technology, i love the microprocessor market and i really like AMD who start this year in a pretty great way with a net bullish trend.
The performance of the indicator on AMD is decent (at last !) with the equity producing many new higher highs. The indicator performance still drop in the middle end of 2019 with a large equity drawdown of 17$ caused by the gap of august 8. Unfortunately AMD, like lot of well behaving stocks can only tells us that the indicator has good performances on heavily trending markets with no excess of noise or chaotic structures.
In short :
$ 17.86 net profit (Enough for a consistent lunch)
295 closed trades
36.27 % profitable
1.414 profit factor
$ 10.37 max drawdown.
Conclusion
A strategy using the recently proposed Grover Llorens activator has been presented. We can easily conclude that the indicator can't possibly generate long term returns under chaotic and volatile markets, and could even produce unnecessary trades in trending markets without much parasitic fluctuations such as noise and retracements (think about a simple linear trend) since the indicator converge toward the price and would therefore automatically cross over/under the trend, thus guaranteeing a false signal.
However we have seen its ability to provide accurate early reversal detection shine from time to time, thus over performing lagging indicators in this aspect, however the duration of price fluctuations isn't fixed at a certain period, the rate of convergence should be way faster during volatile fluctuations, of moderate speed during more cyclic fluctuations, and really slow with apparent long term trends, this could be achieved by making the indicator adaptive, but it won't really make it necessarily perform better.
That said i still believe that converging trend indicators are really interesting and aim to capture the non lasting behavior of price fluctuations, they shouldn't receive so much hate (think about the poor p-sar).

This script can be separated into 3 categories:
- Channel Kroll generator : one layer for the actual interval and a layer for a Large Timeframe .(with ratio)
- "Range" generator : one layer for actual Interval and a layer for a Large Timeframe.(with automique ratio)
-Targets generator : one layer for actual interval with different trend.
"Channel Kroll" :
- I "hijack" the Chande Kroll Stop formula with custom parameters for generate this channel. Overall, it works like other types of channels like BB, etc... A midline and two borders. The thickness of the borders are relatively important here. A thick border shows some resistance of the area. And so the probability of seeing the market return to its first contact is stronger. While a very thin and vertical border would rather play the role of a breach, a bit like the idea of gaps. Often the market seems to want to go after several cycles.
You can activate its Large TimeFrame version, its midline is strong and fine borders helps to judge the risk.
SARget + "SAR Limited" :
- (S.A.R + targets) The philosophy of this function is simple... When a small cycle is broken, it creates a mark on a higher cycle. So on until the SAR called "SAR Limited". For simplicity, imagine a fractal image but inverted ... Break the small figure, it will mark the larger figure at this time but to get there you still have to make the way to the small figure.
Targets are : cross ("+") for fast targets(hidden by default because, theire work only on lower interval), squares (for medium trend), Xcross(for large trend) and red cross(they try to find a large contexte). When a target proc, it is for later (market need some cycles for going to, but it is relative to your interval). This gives you speculative goals.

Targets may be slightly too far because I am a bad coder... Currently the targets appear at the moment of rupture but it would be necessary to wait for the end of the breaking movement. Which can bring a positional error if the break is violent.
RnG and LTF RnG :
- Attempt to generate a Fibo range for each cycle and see interressing areas to enter or exit. This is played with the same philosophy as the Fibo extensions and retracement.

Anchor ZonesL.A. Little, who wrote two books on trend trading, explained a key timing concept called anchor zones which was used, within his trading system, to enter and exit the market at appropriate times.
Anchor zones are formed from anchor bars. An anchor bar is a bar that has one or more of these components: wide range, high volume or gaps. For this script we're going to require two or more of the components. When an anchor bar forms, we'll note the high and low of the bar and draw a zone across time as prices develops. For this script, we'll also note the open and close of the candle to hint at other levels of support or resistance. The boundaries of these zones can act as support or resistance, but they also mark out the areas where price can often get trapped.
A breakout from these zones on high volume can suggest the beginning of a new trend. In general, anchor zones are a good compliment to price action strategies. For more information on how to use these, refer to L.A. Little's books.
