Ryan's Crypto Tracker

An informal list of coins I'm tracking in since I've been getting a lot of questions about it lately. It's not necessarily a reflection of my portfolio but it is pretty close. Things I look for in a crypto project:

1 - A working prototype with a clear concept that they're trying to prove. Doesn't have to be perfect, just needs to be clear.

2 - Real users and developer community support. Product-market fit, even if the scale is small. (This is what institutional money and VCs look for, usually.)

3 - Movement that bucks the trend of the usual mirroring of Bitcoin/Stocks/Ethereum. Independence usually implies that there is support for the project outside of the hype cycle in the media.

4 - A team that's well-respected, competent, low-drama. A track record of integrating community feedback into their development cycles. Crypto projects require a higher level of teamwork than your usual startup, so this part is actually very important.

5 - Supporters that answer your questions in earnest. This is a reflection of what kind of culture the company is building. Culture doesn't change easily once established so you can kind of assume that what's going on now will be there forever.

Notes:

- I use % change rather than absolute amounts because if you're looking to get a return, that's all that really matters.
- The returns you get is highly dependent on when your entry point was. Make sure you use the time-frame that's appropriate for your specific situation -- results may vary. (1 mo, 3 mo, 6 mo, 1 year, etc.)
- As a disclaimer, I own 0 BTC after selling it off a while ago. I'm 100% focused on "altcoins" right now.

The list is changing all the time so I might update occasionally as time goes on.
