MG - Fibonacci Alerts - 1.2Updated version of:
The main change with this version, is that the indicator is now always overlayed and the user has to specify where they want the alerts to be displayed on the chart. (New 'Alert Base' and 'Alert Amplitude' properties define where this is shown in the chart and how large the alert spikes are). It also now includes optional bull and sell markers
This update therefore allows us to:
- Show the Fibonacci Levels being used by the indicator
- Plot buy and sell signals at the correct points on the price chart
- Trigger alerts when price reaches a Fibonacci level (without displaying this on the chart, the indicator can't be overlayed on the main chart)

MG - Fibonacci Alerts - 1.0This script allows a user to get alerts when the price goes within a certain percentage threshold of a Fibonacci level.
If connected with AutoView, it could allow an easy way to do automated range trading between Fibonacci levels. Although I plan to do this myself, I haven't used it for this purpose yet so please be cautious and verify with live results beforehand before using it for any automation.
NOTE: The image shown of the indicator is not fully correct as the close price is used. In many cases in the example image, the candle close price DID come within the alert threshold but closed outside the threshold
Usage:
1. User performs a Fibonacci retracement / extension analysis to identify a sensible high and low point. (Currently, this script is geared towards dip pullbacks during a bull market with the ability to toggle rise pullbacks in a bear market in the pipeline)
2. User enters the high and low points into this indicator
3. User can then set alerts on the buy and sell signals which should provide alerts at excellent entry / exit points.
a. Alerts must be created on the buy and sell signal bars. E.g. Buy signal => Alert when 'Buy Signal' crosses up '0.9'
4. Set the alerts to once per bar (not per close). In this indicator, we want to catch things as soon as they happen.
NOTE: Should use in conjunction with another indicator for maximize results.
I personally use this indicator ()
TODO
- Add negative alert levels
- Allow user to specify direction of Fib retracement as the levels are different in bull and bear markets
All feedback is welcome

BTC Margin Sniper w/ AlertsMargin Sniper uses 2 levels for overbought and oversold to overlay possible trades on the chart. You can adjust its sensitivity by either increasing or decreasing the overbought and oversold threshold numbers. It must meet one of these levels and the short-term trend has to change direction for it to create the alert and entry on the overlay.
Increasing the overbought input makes the trigger more precise, but it may not trigger as often. Decreasing the oversold input will do the same for that trigger.
You can adjust the alerts and the overlaid position suggestions to match your preferred leverage amount.
To set an alert, click "add alert", then select this script. Choose one of the oversold or overbought alerts and enter your message.
I primarily use this on BitMEX with BTC, but you can use it with other exchanges and coins. You may have to adjust the inputs depending on the coin and the timeframe you use. Do not blindly follow this to make purchases. This is just an alert system to notify you of possible trades.
Grahn Gyllene Kors [Alerts]Grahn Gyllene Kors is the companion study for the Grahn Gyllene Kors strategy...
This is an EMA / Trend Explorer & Strategy useful for identifying trends before EMA's cross and also identifying and experimenting with various EMA lengths and candle trends. There is also a companion Alerts study for this in which trend signals may be sent to the user via sms or email AND/OR buy and sell alerts may be sent to bots for automated trading of this strategy. Once you have optimized your settings and backtested with this strategy, apply your same settings into the Alerts study and create your alerts.
NOTICE: This script does not require access from me, simply open Indicators on chart and search for "Grahn". EMA Fast and EMA Slow - may be adjusted in length and color.
Bullish F>S % - controls what percentage the EMA Fast should be above EMA Slow before considered bullish and is represented by the Green band on the chart.
Neutral % - is what percentage surrounding the EMA Slow should be considered neutral and is represented by the Yellow band on the chart.
Bearish F<S % - controls what percentage the EMA Fast should be below EMA Slow before considered bearish and is represented by the Red band on the chart.
Enable Trend - determines whether Trend Strength is enforced in strategy in addition to EMA divergence.
Bull Candles # - is the number of candles ranging from 0 (off) to 5 that should be consecutively higher in value before considered to be a trend.
Neut Candles # - is the number of candles that should consecutively remain in the Neutral yellow band before considered to be trending neutral for signal alerts (has no impact on strategy).
Bear Candles # - is the number of candles ranging from 0 (off) to 5 that should be consecutively lower in value before considered to be a trend.
Pump Increase % - is the rise in price that should be considered a pump for signal alerts (has no impact on strategy).

Dump Candles # - is the number of candles over which Dump Decrease % should be considered (has no impact on strategy).
Show EMA Fast & Slow - their display may be turned on or off.
Enable Range - may be enabled for backtesting (in strategy) a specific range of time (disabled uses default range based on period).
Gunbot MACDgenOk this is just some strat based on MACD, checking for a few conditions until giving buy/sell signals to Gunbot via alerts.
It is generalized but if you want to go play with the values. I will continue to develop this further and am happy to receive feedback.
Notations are coming.
Usage notes:
-ONLY use this with TV_GAIN: 0.6 because on downtrends it is supposed to double up to pull down the average bought price!
-Use "buying condition" and "selling condition" for alerts, trigger on close and I suggest you use 3 min intervals but try what looks good to you
-Use this on pairs that are curvy and have atleast 0.6% gain between buy/sell triggers. This is also general advise when you want to take microprofits.
-Don't be confused with sell arrows, it will only trigger the bot sell on gain when you've set TV_GAIN

Option Range Projector PRO (with Alerts)Indicator Name: Option Range Projector PRO (with Alerts)
Short Description
This is a powerful and flexible tool for traders that visualizes expected price movement ranges based on option pricing principles and statistical deviations. The indicator plots standard deviation levels (Sigmas) and boundaries calculated from the price of an options Straddle, providing a unique insight into market volatility expectations.
It is ideal for options traders, as well as those who trade futures or spot assets and want to gain an edge by understanding where the market anticipates price boundaries on a specific date.
Core Concepts
The indicator is based on three key ideas:
Standard Deviation (Sigma, σ): In statistics, this is a measure of value dispersion. In trading, when applied to prices, standard deviation levels show the probable range within which the price is expected to remain until a specific date (expiration).
±1σ (1 Sigma): Approximately 68.2% probability that the price will stay within this range.
±2σ (2 Sigmas): Approximately 95.4% probability. These levels often act as strong support/resistance.
±3σ (3 Sigmas): Approximately 99.7% probability. Reaching these levels is a statistically rare event.
Implied Volatility (IV): This is a key component. IV is the market's forecast of the asset's future volatility. It is derived from current option prices and reflects how significant the price movements are expected to be by traders. The higher the IV, the wider the calculated ranges will be.
Straddle-Based Levels: A straddle is an options strategy involving the simultaneous purchase of a Call and a Put option with the same strike price and expiration date. The cost of this combination (Call + Put) directly reflects the market's expected price movement in points. Our indicator uses this value to construct alternative, highly accurate boundaries of the expected range.
Key Features
Flexible Expiration Choice: Easily switch between standard contracts (Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly) or set any custom number of days to expiration (DTE).
Dual Volatility Calculation Mode: Use automatic calculation based on historical data or enter a precise IV value manually (e.g., from your broker's terminal) for maximum accuracy.
Two Types of Predictive Levels: Visualize classic standard deviations (Sigmas) and/or levels calculated from the Straddle price for a comprehensive analysis.
Expiration Comparison: Enable the display of additional levels for a different expiration date to visually compare short-term and long-term market expectations.
"Greeks" Calculation: The indicator calculates and displays key option Greeks (Delta, Gamma, Theta, Vega), helping to deepen the understanding of an option position's characteristics.
Informative Table: All key data—ATM price, IV, DTE, level prices, Greeks, and option prices—are consolidated into one clear table for quick analysis.
Customizable Alerts: Get instant notifications directly in TradingView when the price crosses any of the important levels (±1σ, ±2σ, ±3σ).
Full Visual Customization: Control colors, line thickness, labels, and zone fills to adapt the indicator to your trading style.
How to Use (Settings)
Price Settings:
Auto-detect ATM Price: When enabled, the indicator will use the current closing price as the At-The-Money (ATM) price.
Manual ATM Price: If auto mode is disabled, you can set a precise ATM price manually.
Volatility Settings:
Auto-calculate IV: Calculates historical volatility over a specified period. Useful if you don't have access to real-time IV.
Manual IV Value: (Recommended for accuracy). Enter the Implied Volatility (IV) value for the desired strike from your brokerage terminal or analytical services here.
Expiration:
Contract Type: Choose one of the standard terms (Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly) or "Custom" to use a manual day input.
Days to Expiration: Active only for the "Custom" type.
Show Multiple Expirations: Enables a second set of levels with a different term for comparison.
Straddle Boundaries:
Use Manual Input: Allows you to enter the precise Call and Put Settle prices from the official exchange summary (e.g., from the CME website). This provides the most accurate boundaries based on real market prices.
Trading Ideas and Application
Mean Reversion Trading: The ±2σ and ±3σ levels often act as strong overbought/oversold zones. A price reaching these extreme values has a high statistical probability of reversing or correcting back towards the central ATM price.
Trend Confirmation and Breakouts: A confident close outside the ±1σ range can indicate the beginning of a strong directional move.
Risk Management: Use the levels to set stop-losses or determine profit targets. For example, when opening a trade near the +1σ level, you might consider a target at +2σ and place a stop-loss behind the ATM level.
Volatility Analysis: By comparing the width of the ranges for different expirations, you can assess how the market is pricing short-term versus long-term risks. A narrow range suggests low expectations, while a wide range indicates high ones.
Disclaimer: This indicator is an analysis tool and does not provide direct financial advice or trading signals. All trading decisions are your own. Use this indicator in conjunction with other analysis methods.

UT Bot Alerts – Time Filtered with ExitsThis indicator combines several technical approaches to generate precise entry and exit signals, while incorporating time filters that ensure signals are sent only during desired time windows and with defined cooldown periods. It is based on the original idea by QuantNomad.
Main Components:
ATR-based Trailing Stop:
Using the Average True Range (ATR) and an adjustable multiplier ("Key Value"), a dynamic trailing stop is calculated that adapts to the current price. This trailing stop forms the basis for the signal generation.
EMA-based Entry Signals:
A very short exponential moving average (EMA, period 1) is used in combination with the trailing stop to identify clear buy (long) and sell (short) signals via crossovers. An additional buffer zone helps reduce false signals.
Persistent Trade State:
The current state (long, short, or neutral) is maintained so that the system remains in the trend until a new signal is generated.
Linear Regression as Reference:
A linear regression line computed over a defined period serves as a reference for determining exit levels.
Exit Signals with Delay:
Exit signals are generated when the price deviates from the linear regression line by a defined percentage (Exit Signal Deviation) and the condition persists for at least a specified number of bars (Exit Signal Delay). Only one exit signal is issued per trade to avoid excessive exits.
Time Filters and Cooldown:
Session Filter: A user-defined session (e.g., "2200-0500") can disable signals during specified periods.
Cooldown Period: After a signal is triggered, a cooldown phase (in minutes) can be set during which no new signals are sent.
Visual Display and Alerts:
Entry Signals: Buy and sell signals are displayed as labels (green for long, red for short).
Exit Signals: Exit signals appear as triangles, with the exit long signal text displayed in white.
Reference Lines:
The upper exit level (Exit Short Level) is drawn as a solid line in turquoise (color.aqua).
The lower exit level (Exit Long Level) is drawn as a solid line in yellow.
Additionally, the ATR trailing stop and the linear regression line are clearly plotted on the chart.
Alerts can be configured for all signal types.
In Summary:
The indicator delivers precise entry signals based on an ATR trailing stop and a short EMA, supplemented by dynamic exit levels determined via linear regression. With integrated time filters (session and cooldown) and a flexible exit mechanism, this indicator offers controlled trade management—ideal for traders who wish to receive signals only during desired time periods.

Wick Length Display + Alert conditionsDescription of the Wick Length Display (Advanced) script
Originality and purpose of the script
The Wick Length Display (Advanced) script is an innovative tool for traders who want to gain detailed insights into the length of candle wicks. It stands out for its versatility and user-friendly customization options. It combines precise technical calculations with visual representation to provide important information about market movements and dynamics right on the chart.
Functionality
The script calculates and displays the length of the upper and lower wicks of each candle on the chart. It also provides additional visual cues such as:
• “Bull pressure”: When green candles do not have upper wicks, this indicates strong buying pressure.
• “Bear pressure”: When red candles do not have lower wicks, this indicates strong selling pressure.
• Threshold conditions: Only displays wicks that exceed a certain threshold (optional).
• Display in pips: Allows you to display wick lengths in pips, which is useful for forex traders.
How it works
The script analyzes each candle using the following calculations:
1. Wick length calculation:
◦ Upper wick length = High - (top of the body)
◦ Lower wick length = (bottom of the body) - Low
2. Display conditions:
◦ It distinguishes between bullish and bearish candles.
◦ It checks if the calculated wicks exceed the defined thresholds before displaying them.
3. Dynamic labels:
◦ Labels are placed above or below the respective candles.
◦ Size, color and type of labels are fully customizable.
4. Limitation of labels:
◦ To ensure clarity, a maximum number of labels is defined.
Usage
1. Customization:
◦ Open the script in the Pine Script Editor in TradingView.
◦ Use the input options to customize parameters such as color selection, label size, thresholds and other details according to your requirements.
2. Enable thresholds:
◦ Enable thresholds to show labels only for relevant wicks (default is 6).
◦ Define the minimum wick lengths for bullish (green) and bearish (red) candles.
3. Show in pips:
◦ Enable the “Show wick length in pips” option to show the results in pips (especially suitable for Forex).
4. Edit pressure labels:
◦ Turn the “Bull Pressure” and “Bear Pressure” features on or off depending on your analysis settings.
Concepts behind the calculations
• Technical market analysis: Wick lengths can indicate buying or selling pressure and provide important information on market psychology.
• Thresholds and filtering: The script uses thresholds to avoid visual overload and highlight only essential data.
• Label display: Dynamic labels improve chart readability and give the user instant feedback on market developments.
Usage
This script is great for:
• Intraday trading: Analyzing short-term movements using wick lengths.
• Forex trading: Tracking market momentum using the pip indicator.
• Swing trading: Identifying buying or selling pressure in key markets.
• Visual support: Ideal for traders who prefer a graphical display.
Description of the Wick Length Display (Advanced) script
4. Limitation of labels
Alert conditions:
Alerts are triggered when the wick length of a bullish or bearish candle exceeds the defined thresholds.
Alert function:
alert() is used to issue messages with a frequency of once per candle when the conditions are met.
How to set up alerts
Save the script and add it to your chart.
Open the alert settings in TradingView.
Select the script's custom message as a trigger.
Adjust the frequency and notification type (popup, email, etc.).
Now you have a powerful tool with visual analysis and alert function!
Arjo FVG Filtering With Alerts [neo.|]Fair Value Gaps (Also known as FVGs or Imbalances) can be simply described as a three candle pattern, where the second candle's body isn't completely covered by the wicks or body of the second and third candle. These areas represent movements in the market where either buyers or sellers were not able to get involved due to price in the form of wicks not revisiting those levels, and instead moving away from them.
As a result, they can be seen as potential areas of continuation given that price may want to continue in it's direction after it revisits them and offers Fair Value, since previously it made sharp moves away from those areas.
However what is important to note, and what FVG Filtering aims to address, is that there are three notable types of FVGs as described by Arjo, which are Perfect FVGs denoted as FVGp on the indicator and chart below, Expansion (FVGe), and Reversal (FVGr). As the names imply, they each serve different purposes with the FVGp being the likeliest to hold on mitigation, expansion meaning price is likely to not retrace into the FVG and reversal being the least likely for the FVG to hold.
The indicator is the first that automatically determines which one of the three underlying FVG types any particular FVG is, that way you can quickly make informed decisions based on the type of FVG you see appear on the chart.
As you may notice, the type depends primarily on the third candle, which demonstrates the true strength of any particular FVG, and is how the filtering occurs on this indicator, which compares the sizes of the second and third candle's bodies, in order to classify the FVG candle sequence as one of the three aforementioned types.
Color Options:
FVG Colors: Change the color of any bullish or bearish FVG type to easily distinguish between them.
Mitigated FVG Color: Apply colors to mitigated FVGs in order to avoid using ones that are no longer valid.
Text Color: Change the color of the text within the FVG to your liking.
Further styling options:
How many FVGs you want to be displayed: Changes the amount of FVGs displayed on your chart by limiting each type of FVG to the number you select.
How far you want the FVGs to extend: Modify the amount of bars forward that the FVG stretches out after it's inception.
Table options:
Show table: Display a table that will give you insights on how many FVGs were created of each type and what % they represent of the total.
Table text color: Modify the color of the text within the table.
Table border color: Modify the color of the border of the table.
Alerts:
Freely set alerts for any type of FVG you would like to see.
Order Blocks & Breaker Blocks [TradingFinder] Signals + Alerts🔵 Introduction
Order Block and Breaker Block, are powerful tools in technical analysis. By understanding these concepts, traders can enhance their ability to predict potential price reversals and continuations, leading to more effective trading strategies.
Using historical price action, volume analysis, and candlestick patterns, traders can identify key areas where institutional activities influence market movements.
🟣 Demand Order Block and Supply Breaker Block
Demand Order Block : A Demand Order Block is formed when the price succeeds in breaking the previous high pivot.
Supply Breaker Block : A Supply Breaker Block is formed when the price succeeds in breaking the Demand Order Block. As a result, the Order Block changes its role and turns from the role of price support to resistance.
🟣 Supply Order Block and Demand Breaker Block
Supply Order Block : A Supply Order Block is formed when the price succeeds in breaking the previous low pivot.
Demand Breaker Block : A Demand Breaker Block is formed when the price succeeds in breaking the Supply Order Block. As a result, the Order Block changes its role and turns from the role of price resistance to support.
🔵 How to Use
🟣 Order Blocks (Supply and Demand)
Order blocks are zones where the likelihood of a price reversal is higher. In demand zones, buying opportunities arise, while in supply zones, selling opportunities can be explored.
The "Refinement" feature allows you to adjust the width of the order block to fit your trading strategy. There are two modes in the "Order Block Refine" feature: "Aggressive" and "Defensive." The primary difference between these modes is the width of the order block.
For risk-averse traders, the "Defensive" mode is ideal as it offers a lower loss limit and a higher reward-to-risk ratio.
Conversely, for traders who are willing to take more risks, the "Aggressive" mode is more suitable. This mode, with its wider order block width, caters to those who prefer entering trades at higher prices.
🟣 Breaker Blocks (Supply and Demand)
Trading based on breaker blocks is the same as order blocks and the price in these zones is likely to be reversed.
🔵 Setting
🟣 Global Setting
Pivot Period of Order Blocks Detector : Enter the desired pivot period to identify the Order Block.
Order Block Validity Period (Bar) : You can specify the maximum time the Order Block remains valid based on the number of candles from the origin.
Mitigation Level Order Block : Determining the basic level of a Order Block. When the price hits the basic level, the Order Block due to mitigation.
Mitigation Level Breaker Block : Determining the basic level of a Breaker Block. When the price hits the basic level, the Breaker Block due to mitigation.
Switching Colors Theme Mode : Three modes "Off", "Light" and "Dark" are included in this parameter. "Light" mode is for color adjustment for use in "Light Mode".
"Dark" mode is for color adjustment for use in "Dark Mode" and "Off" mode turns off the color adjustment function and the input color to the function is the same as the output color.

If you do not want this information to appear in the received message along with the alert, you should set it to "Off".
Smart DCA StrategyINSPIRATION
While Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA) is a popular and stress-free investment approach, I noticed an opportunity for enhancement. Standard DCA involves buying consistently, regardless of market conditions, which can sometimes mean missing out on optimal investment opportunities. This led me to develop the Smart DCA Strategy – a 'set and forget' method like traditional DCA, but with an intelligent twist to boost its effectiveness.
The goal was to build something more profitable than a standard DCA strategy so it was equally important that this indicator could backtest its own results in an A/B test manner against the regular DCA strategy.
WHY IS IT SMART?
The key to this strategy is its dynamic approach: buying aggressively when the market shows signs of being oversold, and sitting on the sidelines when it's not. This approach aims to optimize entry points, enhancing the potential for better returns while maintaining the simplicity and low stress of DCA.
WHAT THIS STRATEGY IS, AND IS NOT
This is an investment style strategy. It is designed to improve upon the common standard DCA investment strategy. It is therefore NOT a day trading strategy. Feel free to experiment with various timeframes, but it was designed to be used on a daily timeframe and that's how I recommend it to be used.
You may also go months without any buy signals during bull markets, but remember that is exactly the point of the strategy - to keep your buying power on the sidelines until the markets have significantly pulled back. You need to be patient and trust in the historical backtesting you have performed.
HOW IT WORKS
The Smart DCA Strategy leverages a creative approach to using Moving Averages to identify the most opportune moments to buy. A trigger occurs when a daily candle, in its entirety including the high wick, closes below the threshold line or box plotted on the chart. The indicator is designed to facilitate both backtesting and live trading.
HOW TO USE
Settings:
The input parameters for tuning have been intentionally simplified in an effort to prevent users falling into the overfitting trap.
The main control is the Buying strictness scale setting. Setting this to a lower value will provide more buying days (less strict) while higher values mean less buying days (more strict). In my testing I've found level 9 to provide good all round results.
Validation days is a setting to prevent triggering entries until the asset has spent a given number of days (candles) in the overbought state. Increasing this makes entries stricter. I've found 0 to give the best results across most assets.
In the backtest settings you can also configure how much to buy for each day an entry triggers. Blind buy size is the amount you would buy every day in a standard DCA strategy. Smart buy size is the amount you would buy each day a Smart DCA entry is triggered.
You can also experiment with backtesting your strategy over different historical datasets by using the Start date and End date settings. The results table will not calculate for any trades outside what you've set in the date range settings.
Backtesting:
When backtesting you should use the results table on the top right to tune and optimise the results of your strategy. As with all backtests, be careful to avoid overfitting the parameters. It's better to have a setup which works well across many currencies and historical periods than a setup which is excellent on one dataset but bad on most others. This gives a much higher probability that it will be effective when you move to live trading.
The results table provides a clear visual representation as to which strategy, standard or smart, is more profitable for the given dataset. You will notice the columns are dynamically coloured red and green. Their colour changes based on which strategy is more profitable in the A/B style backtest - green wins, red loses. The key metrics to focus on are GOA (Gain on Account) and Avg Cost .
Live Trading:
After you've finished backtesting you can proceed with configuring your alerts for live trading.
But first, you need to estimate the amount you should buy on each Smart DCA entry. We can use the Total invested row in the results table to calculate this. Assuming we're looking to trade on BITSTAMP:BTCUSD
Decide how much USD you would spend each day to buy BTC if you were using a standard DCA strategy. Lets say that is $5 per day
Enter that USD amount in the Blind buy size settings box
Check the Blind Buy column in the results table. If we set the backtest date range to the last 10 years, we would expect the amount spent on blind buys over 10 years to be $18,250 given $5 each day
Next we need to tweak the value of the Smart buy size parameter in setting to get it as close as we can to the Total Invested amount for Blind Buy
By following this approach it means we will invest roughly the same amount into our Smart DCA strategy as we would have into a standard DCA strategy over any given time period.
After you have calculated the Smart buy size , you can go ahead and set up alerts on Smart DCA buy triggers.
BOT AUTOMATION
In an effort to maintain the 'set and forget' stress-free benefits of a standard DCA strategy, I have set my personal Smart DCA Strategy up to be automated. The bot runs on AWS and I have a fully functional project for the bot on my GitHub account. Just reach out if you would like me to point you towards it. You can also hook this into any other 3rd party trade automation system of your choice using the pre-configured alerts within the indicator.
PLANNED FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS
Currently this is purely an accumulation strategy. It does not have any sell signals right now but I have ideas on how I will build upon it to incorporate an algorithm for selling. The strategy should gradually offload profits in bull markets which generates more USD which gives more buying power to rinse and repeat the same process in the next cycle only with a bigger starting capital. Watch this space!
MARKETS
Crypto:
This strategy has been specifically built to work on the crypto markets. It has been developed, backtested and tuned against crypto markets and I personally only run it on crypto markets to accumulate more of the coins I believe in for the long term. In the section below I will provide some backtest results from some of the top crypto assets.
Stocks:
I've found it is generally more profitable than a standard DCA strategy on the majority of stocks, however the results proved to be a lot more impressive on crypto. This is mainly due to the volatility and cycles found in crypto markets. The strategy makes its profits from capitalising on pullbacks in price. Good stocks on the other hand tend to move up and to the right with less significant pullbacks, therefore giving this strategy less opportunity to flourish.
Forex:
As this is an accumulation style investment strategy, I do not recommend that you use it to trade Forex.
STRATEGY IN ACTION
Here you see the indicator running on the BITSTAMP:BTCUSD pair. You can read the indicator as follows:
Vertical green bands on historical candles represents where buy signals triggered in the past
Table on the top right represents the results of the A/B backtest against a standard DCA strategy
Green Smart Buy column shows that Smart DCA was more profitable than standard DCA on this backtest. That is shown by the percentage GOA (Gain on Account) and the Avg Cost
Smart Buy Zone label marks the threshold which the entire candle must be below to trigger a buy signal (line can be changed to a box under plotting settings)
Green color of Smart Buy Zone label represents that the open candle is still valid for a buy signal. A signal will only be generated if the candle closes while this label is still green
Below is the same BITSTAMP:BTCUSD chart a couple of days later. Notice how the threshold has been broken and the Smart Buy Zone label has turned from green to red. No buy signal can be triggered for this day - even if the candle retraced and closed below the threshold before daily candle close.
Notice how the green vertical bands tend to be present after significant pullbacks in price. This is the reason the strategy works! Below is the same BITSTAMP:BTCUSD chart, but this time zoomed out to present a clearer picture of the times it would invest vs times it would sit out of the market. You will notice it invests heavily in bear markets and significant pullbacks, and does not buy anything during bull markets.
Finally, to visually demonstrate the indicator on an asset other than BTC, here is an example on CRYPTO:ETHUSD . In this case the current daily high has not touched the threshold so it is still possible for this to be a valid buy trigger on daily candle close. The vertical green band will not print until the buy trigger is confirmed.
BACKTEST RESULTS
Now for some backtest results to demonstrate the improved performance over a standard DCA strategy using all non-stablecoin assets in the top 30 cryptos by marketcap.
I've used the TradingView ticker (exchange name denoted as CRYPTO in the symbol search) for every symbol tested with the exception of BTCUSD because there was some dodgy data at the beginning of the TradingView BTCUSD chart which overinflated the effectiveness of the Smart DCA strategy on that ticker. For BTCUSD I've used the BITSTAMP exchange data. The symbol links below will take you to the correct chart and exchange used for the test.
I'm using the GOA (Gain on Account) values to present how each strategy performed.
The value on the left side is the standard DCA result and the right is the Smart DCA result.
✅ means Smart DCA strategy outperformed the standard DCA strategy
❌ means standard DCA strategy outperformed the Smart DCA strategy
To avoid overfitting, and to prove that this strategy does not suffer from overfitting, I've used the exact same input parameters for every symbol tested below. The settings used in these backtests are:
Buying strictness scale: 9
Validation days: 0
You can absolutely tweak the values per symbol to further improve the results of each, however I think using identical settings on every pair tested demonstrates a higher likelihood that the results will be similar in the live markets.
I'm presenting results for two time periods:
